My view of the best side should be

1. Dufty
2. Pearson
3. Lomax
4. Widdop
5. Ravalawa,

6. Norman
7. Hunt

8. Vaughn (VC)
9. Mc Inness
10. Graham
11. Frizzel (C)
12. T.Sims
13. De Belin

14. Robson
15. K.Sims
16. Lawrie
17. Leilua

Pearson and Ravalawa need to be prepared for getting back on kicks and running hard and getting up quick to start our sets.

Widdop is perhaps our most talented and creative player, and you want to take him off the ball, and play him in a position he's never played in his entire career?

It's a shame, because I like the rest of your team.

If Widdop fails at fullback, is he replaced by Dufty and given a payout to leave early, do he and Norman swap places or is Norman put on the bench?

And you have the hide to try and name Possm..for continually dreaming about signing players. You have been doing a bit of the same lately re Widdop. He aint getting no early or reduced payout.
He proudly set next to Mary as captain in the team photo. GOLD :p

I don't expect Widdop to fail at fullback, it will be an easier challenge for him than five-eighth however, if he fails due to injury, then he will be replaced by Dufty and our season will then depend on Dufty's ability to improve on last seasons display in defence, taking the high ball with confidence, positional play and making good metres when returning the ball from his red zone.

Just speculation, not dreaming. If I were to dream I would say "Ponga is going to fail at 5/8, be pissed, and Brown is going to organize a straight swap with Widdop."

Sorry Possm...how is fullback and easier challenge than 5/8th for Widdop?. How many games has he played at fullback for 1st grade level again?

Being the playmaker and managing a team is a job which Widdop is not suited to and I'm sure he is not comfortable with. In any case Widdop has not managed our team well over the past 5 years. He is not a playmaker.

Now with that job lifted from his shoulders, he will excel in what he does best, run, seek opportunities, and from the back shout advice regarding threats and opportunities to his team mates. On occasions he will chime into the backline and sprint to the line or set up his speedy wingers. He love and relish the role.

Out of curiosity, would you not consider the following traits to be “managing the team?”

NO only advising players of threats and opportunities which most good fullbacks do these days. Something Dugan did do and Dufty does not do however, I do not hold this against Dufty mainly because his experience level is not up to this as yet. Dufty is still working on his own positional play at these days.

So the whole running, seeking opportunities and managing team positional play has nothing to do with it?

Would you consider Dugan a good game manager? He dug us out of many a hole.

Come on, you already know the answer. I can tell you the answer can be found in the question, why do we fail at the halfway mark each season?

Our forwards are big strong and dominant. Even a peanut brain like McCrone could weave magic behind such a pack - until they become fatigued and busted and are dominated by the opposition. From that time on our halves have been very ordinary; Widdop either injured or very ordinary in the second half of the season.

We can banter on and will only see results and answers to your very important questions when the season begins, when Norman does his magic and Widdop shines at the back and when the team does NOT fail at the halfway mark. Of course all will depend mostly on Mary's decision making which of course will out trump all.

I think Widdop can easily play in the centres. He is good defensively and can run into gaps unlike the centres we have had of late.

Also, I wanted to see how Dufty performs in his second year and there is only one spot for him - fullback.
