It’s strange that Crown Resorts is back so soon after being so sure that they didn’t want to do sponsorship anymore.

Since returning to the public eye earlier this year, James Packer has been a lot more hands on with the club. It looks like he pushed this one through personally also giving the brand exposure for their Sydney property opening late this year.

Yeah, I figured that’s why they were sponsoring Souths in the first place in addition to Storm.

Or, seeing as he isn't the majority shareholder anymore, others may have overruled the earlier decision.

Given it came from Kent, I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Even so, Brisbane won't have any trouble finding a new sponsor if Kia jump to the top.

No reason Kia couldn't sponsor both. If Brydens Lawyers can put their name to an NRL team, State of Origin and various other smaller sponsorships I'm sure Kia can do it, too. An opportunity for a brand outside the existing family of NRL-level sponsors to have their name attached to State of Origin doesn't come along very often.

Would be a bad PR exercise to be attached to NRL and a club IMO, particularly one like Brisbane who many think already get favours from HQ

Wouldn't be the first. When Toyota was an official NRL partner, they sponsored the Broncos, Cowboys and Sharks at the time.

Kia, with their arrangements with the Broncos & Bulldogs wouldn't be much different, and not sure they'd cop that much flak if it came off, especially as the Broncos signed Kia well before the NRL

Don’t see how that would be Kia’s problem. With a major car brand going away, right now is the perfect time for Kia to stake their claim and increase their profile. Attaching their name to one of Australian sport’s biggest properties would do just that. I can’t see there being much of a negative from their point of view.

There’s also a sponsorship deal with Grill’d (upper back) yet to be officially announced.
This was officially announced to grill'd staff today with a public announcement to be made soon - seems members will receive a free extra patty and grilld staff will also receive some benefits vice-versa

You’ve heard it here first… Before anyone else finds out!

Turns out we’ve got some big burger fans at the Melbourne Storm! We’re proud to announce to you our 2020 partnership with the three-time premiership winners; before anyone else knows!

We’re excited to be fueling the guys on the field with our healthy burgers, we reckon there’ll be a few double pattie orders coming our way.

Over the coming week, we will be in touch on what our partnership entails and how each of you and your teams can be involved.

In the meantime, to celebrate our partnership with Melbourne Storm we’re giving away 5 x Double passes to see an NRL game in your state! For your chance to win all you need to do is upload the most creative photo or video of you, in your team colours to The HUB news feed by Monday, 16th March 2020. Winner will be announced on that week’s Feed. *If an NRL game is not played in your state, you will receive a Melbourne Storm merchandise prize.

The Storm’s season gets underway on Sunday the 15th of March when they face off with the Manly Sea Eagles, you can see the draw for yourself here. Shout out to our stadium supporting restaurants, we’re here to support you with the busy NRL season!

Grill'd do great burgers. They should offer a discount to Storm members, make my annual spend cheaper :)

Good to see Grill'd stepping up it's support of NRL. The Sharks have had Grill'd provide post game meals for players the last couple of seasons.
