In what world was Kikau's tackle worse than NAS?
Just doesn't make sense!
even as a tigers fan who are playing Penrith next week, I didn’t think it was worth a week

His arms are out and literally wraps him up. It's not a shoulder charge.

This one is a classic case of focusing on an incriminating still photo... when a replay is far more informative..
The ball-carrier is hit by the other storm player on his left shoulder just before this.. and so jolted him toward NAS’ shoulder.
im of the opinion that this was purely accidental and a penalty sufficient enough. The binning was over the top.
But we are in era where CTE is a concern and people call for heads at will.
I was using the image to argue it not being a Shoulder charge.

I'm flabbergasted that Papaliis tackle is attracting a charge much less the same charge as NAS or Fuma
I agree with the crusher tackle being eliminated but all bets should be off when an attacking player turns and backs into the defence.
Can of worms being opened here. To determine whether a tackle is a crusher, the MRC have to look at it in minute detail, yet refs have to decide in a second when a player stays down and holds his neck. Of course players will hold their neck if it gets them a penalty. You can never prove it was frivolous, although the Nathan Brown one the other day was not a good look for the game.Yep, back into the defence and you should get your neck twisted however the defender wants...
Wait.
Backing into the defence shouldn't mean "all bets are off" if the tackle is illegal. A crusher is a crusher regardless of how the attacker hits the defensive line. There could be mitigation, for sure...but to say all bets are off is asking for trouble.
Watch the Annesley briefing and all will be revealed. Short answer: Some weren't crushers. They have a checklist. How TF did all the crushers in the Melbourne game get seemingly missed from the judiciary and Vaughn is set to miss 2 weeks
