Fifita Drama on NRL 360.
Broncos offer $700 K
Tits offer $1.25 Million.
Kent: "If Fifita takes the Broncos offer given the $550 K difference, then The NRL need to look into it". Well said and exactly but would it be an honest investigation?

Apparently the original titans offer was 1.1 Million, Big Mal jumped in with the 1.25 Mill offer

I think Fifita will stay at the broncos for a year just to piss of his current manager who he wants nothing to do with, but has to honour being with him for one more year. His next manager will clean up

Spoke about him and his Mum. As a kid no money. Has a dream to buy his Mum a house (remind you of anybody?). Kent is right. He would not give up $550k when he is actualy a Tits jnr etc. Money talks and bs walks. He will get his extra $550k. How he gets it is the question.

But he could win a premiership with the Broncos! lol

I doubt they will stay down for long. They have too many advantages to stay shit. Let's not forget they were finalists last year. Humiliated finalists but finalists nonetheless.

I realised today it's been nearly 15 years since their last premiership. Much like us in 2001.

And we will win one before them.

Track down Hoopers story on Siebolds CV when applying for the Broncos job. "Jimmy Brings" Interesting.
Hes also doing a story on the resurgence of our Mighty Eels tomorrow I think they said.

Mal has lost the plot offering the reported amount of $1.25 million to Fifita. He may be good but not that f**ken good, good way to stuff up your cap big time!!

no player is worth that if trying to building a competitive squad.

I would rather our two edge forwards (on a combined amount less then what Fifita is being offered) then Fifita.

it’s madness!!

Mal is a fraud and stealing money from the Titans. Everyone in the media just blows the merkin but he is a bog average coach and totally clueless when it comes to putting a football side together.

He’s a f**king idiot if he doesn’t take the Titans offer.

This.
If the reported figures are true and there is a half a million dollar difference between the two offers, then either Fifita is an idiot or there is more to it than what is on the surface. Apparently he's only looking for a one-year contract this time around so he can split ties with his manager, so why not take the massive money on offer from the Titans for a year, then just head back to the Broncos the year after when they have worked out a bit more cap space.

In any case, that is crazy money for a backrower. If the Broncos are able to get even close to the Titans offer in the end then they will be f**ked for years to come. They will have all their money invested in their forward pack with nothing left for the backs or the spine.

I think Fifita is worth as much as Talmalolou
Yep. If any non-spine player is worth top dollar it's a high impact forward like these two. Fifita plays 80 minutes too.

Of course it's overs, but how would the Titans get any stars without paying overs? I understand Fifita has legit leadership credentials, which you want from your biggest earners.

I'm going to just come out and say it - those deals for Fifita are completely insane.

Sure, he's young, and he has shown tremendous ability, and potential - but in my opinion, his fitness, mobility, and agility in defence do not place him in the upper echelons of edge forwards just yet.

He may get there one day, but I know I, for one, would feel more comfortable with Ryan Matterson defending on one edge, when we are clinging to a small lead, than David Fifita.

I think you are missing the point. They need a whale and he is the only whale in the sea at the moment. If they can reel him in the theory is other fish will follow.

Because it worked so well with Jarryd.

I know that Kent said that if Fifita rejects the Titans offer of $1.25m there should be an investigation, but it was more of a throw away line then an actual discussion of as to why.

Lets not forget that Folau was denied the chance to sign with Parra because the NRL assessed his market value was around double of what we had originally offered him.

So if that is the case, fair enough, but that would then mean that D. Fifita's fair market value is over $1m. So the NRL should now come out and say that they will not accept any contract for Fifita that is less then $1m. That is the minimum that at least 3 other NRL clubs have offered him.

Anything less smacks of really bad, on the nose, monkey business. Especially when there is a club one hour down the road and his junior club no less that is offering $550k more then his current club. That is not a hard decision to make at all.

I don't care what the media are saying. Easiest decision ever. The Broncos management should be ashamed of themselves also for not advising the kid to take the money and run. Poor background kid. More money then any other player in the NRL on offer and they are low balling him by around 40%. Are you kidding me?!!

Remember what Coach Smith told Tooks when he was offered $300k by the Warriors? He said "if they are offering you that sort of money, I'll drive you to the airport myself."

How the hell are the media not discussing this properly and putting the NRL and the Broncos under pressure to do the right thing?

No kid at 19 years should be left to hang and dry due to bad advise from vested interests with this sort of money on offer. Due to his falling out with his current manager, he can't turn to him. His mother seems out of her depth, due to it being a completely emotional decision for her(understandable). So then he only has the ear of individuals that have something to lose or gain. Not a great place for a kid with his background to be stuck in, especially at his age and inexperience with such things. He will not be winning a premiership with the Broncos in the short term. They are at least 3-5 years away till they can get all the ducks in a row, including the right coach.

That is why the NRL should move in quickly and reaffirm there strict fair market worth policy or this could turn into the biggest joke signing all us other Rugby League fans have ever witnessed.

Because it worked so well with Jarryd.

Unfortunately, since his NFL stint, he was never the same player and by his current predicament he had lost the plot.

It is the biggest shoot yourself in the head decision I have ever seen, considering the calibre of the player at the time.

Fifita is a totally different scenario. Is it overs? Sure of course it is, but they need to do something big to bring others to their club. Will it work? Maybe 60-40% chance, but they will also be purging some of their over priced contracted players over the next couple of years too. So if they are smart enough, they should be able to sign other better quality players also by having him in their team.

Not the dumbest idea in the would to sign a 19 year old future top 2 or 3 forward in the game, if not number 1 when at his peak.
