I think you are missing the point. They need a whale and he is the only whale in the sea at the moment. If they can reel him in the theory is other fish will follow.
No, no - I understand that.
I also understand that that is exactly what desperate, struggling clubs do - hell, we did it ourselves with Foran, and enticing Hayne back.
More power to them if they want to offer $1 million a season for David Fifita - I will happily keep Ryan Matterson, and Shaun Lane, thank you.

For the money they are throwing at him, I agree with you 100%.
Hold the Door !!
And League owes him nothing according to him during the Super League war.Mal has never struck me as a mental giant
Absolutely - for me, it's the actual amount of money.
I have no doubt that he is a gun - but he is not a $1 million player at this stage of his career, in my opinion,
He was proven to be a poor influence. Fifita might also be a poor influence but surely it isn't yet proven. Either way they need to take some risks. Playing it safe only benefits the strong clubs.Because it worked so well with Jarryd.
But I also think he needs to take the money on offer now. As unlikely as it might be anything could happen and he could heaven forbid have a career ending injury or one that brings him back a peg or two and then that sort of money simply vanishes.
All the pundits who suggested he wait and bide his time won't fill his bank account will they. If the money was around $100-150k difference, I get it, but not when you can literally buy your mum the home both of them have been dreaming about in the first 12 months of the contract with just the difference between the Broncos and Titans offer.
Sheer folly and lunacy and terrible advise. It is not like he would be leaving a potential Premiership winning club in the next 3 years or so. They have issues that need addressing that will take a while.
Make hay while the sun shines my friend my friend.
Fifita is already the best attacking edge forward in the game. He breaks tackles at will.Absolutely - for me, it's the actual amount of money.

Because none of them ever had to carry a team so how would we know. That said, I don't remember Meninga ever playing in a team full of nuffies either. And League owes him nothing according to him during the Super League war.
Without doubt the most overrated immortal. Brett Kenny was better than him and more deserving. Actually why no players from either of those great Eels or Canterbury sides who won 8/10 comps is not an immortal is a disgrace.
Ray Price was the glue in our great teams and was the best player in his position and one of the best players in the world. We have won nothing since he retired so although he didn’t carry us his influence was ‘Provan’ like which is why he deserves to be an immortal or at the very least be seriously considered.Because none of them ever had to carry a team so how would we know. That said, I don't remember Meninga ever playing in a team full of nuffies either.
We were a shit club and realised that signing merkins like Hayne and Foran was dumb. So we put together a strong roster mostly from discards from other clubs. Why don't they just do that ?He was proven to be a poor influence. Fifita might also be a poor influence but surely it isn't yet proven. Either way they need to take some risks. Playing it safe only benefits the strong clubs.

The myth was made an immortal on the back of QLD beating up some embarrassingly weak NSW sides which never really picked their best sides. And League owes him nothing according to him during the Super League war.

It's great recruitment/poaching by the Broncos to have him and Haas in the same team, but under a salary cap no club should be able to afford both. They are both close to once-in-a-generation talents.
Because they have a moron like Meninga making the decisions. He’s just stealing money from the Titans. But but but but RL gave me nothing........We were a shit club and realised that signing merkins like Hayne and Foran was dumb. We paid big money for a bunch of merkins - Moses, Ferguson, Paulo, Matterson, RCG. These guys take pressure off the discards and allow them to just play a role.We were a shit club and realised that signing merkins like Hayne and Foran was dumb.
