Without doubt the most overrated immortal. Brett Kenny was better than him and more deserving. Actually why no players from either of those great Eels or Canterbury sides who won 8/10 comps is not an immortal is a disgrace.

But I also think he needs to take the money on offer now. As unlikely as it might be anything could happen and he could heaven forbid have a career ending injury or one that brings him back a peg or two and then that sort of money simply vanishes.

All the pundits who suggested he wait and bide his time won't fill his bank account will they. If the money was around $100-150k difference, I get it, but not when you can literally buy your mum the home both of them have been dreaming about in the first 12 months of the contract with just the difference between the Broncos and Titans offer.

Sheer folly and lunacy and terrible advise. It is not like he would be leaving a potential Premiership winning club in the next 3 years or so. They have issues that need addressing that will take a while.

But the fact he agreed to 1.1M, then overnight back flipped . Only 2 scenarios for mine.

1. Agreeing to the titans offer made him realise he wants to stay at the broncos , cause of factors other than money

2. Broncos hierarchy told him they will be able to match or go near the offer , and just need some time to do so eg try off load Jack Bird

Ray Price was the glue in our great teams and was the best player in his position and one of the best players in the world. We have won nothing since he retired so although he didn’t carry us his influence was ‘Provan’ like which is why he deserves to be an immortal or at the very least be seriously considered.

Kenny went a season or two too long which destroyed his legacy. He was similar to Hindmarsh.

That's true.

But personally, I would rather have an edge forward that isn't as effective at breaking tackles, but can be trusted to defend himself to a standstill in a tight game.

Fifita is a more dangerous attacking player - but I would take Shaun Lane, or Ryan Matterson; not only do they defend better, they also have more skill.

But David Fifita is a gun.

We paid big money for a bunch of merkins - Moses, Ferguson, Paulo, Matterson, RCG. These guys take pressure off the discards and allow them to just play a role.
