I may be biased, but I find Peter Sterling to be a better analyst, and rugby league mind, than Gould (and I'm not criticising Gould, but Gould often lets his silly agendas get in the way).

Peter Sterling is a great rugby league mind, and a personality that everyone respects.

Sterlo doesn't have the breadth of understanding that Gould does. He's good with the on field stuff but is a lightweight in comparison.

I like Phil Gould.

And I do agree that Gould has a broader depth of knowledge.

But I think Sterling is a better student of the game, and could offer some valuable insight into how to improve the game.

Well lets see then why don't we. He has achieved more in the game then probably any other individual and all you want to do is criticise. Give him a chance to even start mate. As he has said, development and pathways is his passion. He is a very capable man, so as we know passion and ability are a powerful thing.

As for how he will do it? Well I'm not him mate. He would have a blue print for it. Sorry he hasn't rushed out and given you a copy yet. Maybe it's in the mail?

Short of that, go read his old SHM stories on the subject. He has written about it numerous times mate and in some detail too. I couldn't be F'ed finding them for you. I don't have a problem with him. If you are so concerned, you should.

I can also see him helping to strengthen the game in the pacific islands and ensure that we have better connections to those regions.

It will ulimately come down to the mandate he is given.

The conflict of interest was dicussed on 360. I thought that the conflict was that he’d get all the scoops for ch9. However apparently he has opened a player management business which focuses on kids coming through. It was suggested that he is best suited to the junior development pathways sector attye NRL and that certainly gives him an unfair advantage to sign up the next JT, SBW etc.
