Broncos also had about 10 set restarts which are left off the penalties count.

They had 3 in one set that marched them down the other end when it was 20-18.
Not that I cared who won this game, but to get the lollies from a penalty all Manly had to do was put it over from in front. Broncos had to get through the defence. It was another penalty from in front that had brought them level. This was a game decided by penalties, my guess is it was payback for last week.

So what are you suggesting?

Only call penalties in certain areas of the field, at certain junctures in the game?

Surely Des is searching the league for another hooker to bring in midseason. They won't get anywhere with that derro levi.

I'd even throw walker at hooker and pair dce with croker. There's no way that would be worse and would also stop walker having a brain explosion on the last tackle
As much as I’d hate to lose him, I’d be happy for McInnes to move to Manly. Poor f**ker doesn’t deserve to be stuck in our dogshit team. He’s certainly not as creative as Api or Fainu but he wouldn’t be a handbrake like Levi.

That is up there with the Mel/Souths game last week as the worst game of the year. Brisbane were no better than the last 2 weeks, Manly just put in a performance close to the worst by any team this year and then just plain bad in the second half. Even thought they won they had nothing in attack, Shows how bad Brisbane are.
These "wonderful young brocos forwards" are crap like the rest of the team and are getting dominated through the middle. All a team has to do is run a t them

Maybe they could try reffing BOTH sides.

Maybe I missed what you’re talking about? And I’m starting to feel weird and dirty pumping up Moanly so much.

But I’m sure I saw Manly get dud calls too. I thought Tom T’s “forward pass” came out the back of the hands again, and Suli (?) got “crowded” playing ball that resulted in a turnover.

Any way, suck shit Brisbane.

Not since secretly coveting my Cliff Lyons and Ian Roberts footy cards have I been so conflicted about Manly. Tommy Turbo has got me feeling all squiggly and I don’t like it!!! :triumph:

Manly were happy to give away six-agains in the latter stages, confident they could hold the Broncos out so long as they could slow down the play the ball. Someone said there were three of these in a row. The third one should have been a penalty to level the scores. Klein needs to be pulled aside and reminded of the ways coaches devise to take advantage of the rules in certain game situations.

Like I said earlier, I didn't care who won this game and certainly I have no love for the Broncos, but it's annoying to see games reffed unevenly.

Manly 'robbed' last week. Tommy T says 'We weren't good enough, bad first half'.

Brisbane 'robbed' this week. Joe Ofahengaue says 'It was shoulder charge, we were denied a try'...crying with fans on social media.

This will literally tell the story of these two clubs in 2020.

I agree on the DCE milking no try being a dud decision - but the bunker made that call. Which of the second half penalties were incorrect? Maybe you are referring to the one where Staggs tackled Turbo, is lying in the ruck and then stupidly just rolls onto the ball when he plays it? Or maybe the one where Lodge smacks three blokes across the chops in consecutive tackles? Or maybe the one where Klein calls held and the the ball is stripped - unlucky but still a penalty?

Manly had all the ball in the second half and Brisbane was fatigued and made some really dumb errors.
Doesn't matter who made the call the DCE milking call was wrong and changed the game. With the stripping penalty every week you see the refs call for the ball to be played when something happens as they call held. Klein's call on the stripping was incorrect and not a penalty. Hopefully our younger guys learn't something from this and can cut out some of the school boy errors.

Sure, the DCE call was wrong. The strip call was a penalty because it was a strip clearly after the held call and not simultaneous. The problem Broncos fans have is they get every bullshit call go their way and when it doesn't happen they spit the dummy. Broncos were severely fatigued in the second half and gave away stupid penalties. It's as simple as that.

You obviously don't watch many Broncos games if you think every call goes our way. If the Broncos were the beneficiaries of a 12-2 penalty count with a dodgy call to win the game you and most of the posters on this site would be calling for the refs head.

Ok, let's pretend #penaltybroncos came about because neutrals were just jealous
