I hope we grab both, I reckon we need Arrow first as we really need a very good forward, then if we can let’s grab Latrell, could be worth the risk, the kid can play and his old man would be on his case you’d reckon being a diehard Souths member.
Seems true. But never ever underestimate a bunch of young eager heavy weights trying to make a name for themselves. Knight and Tatola and Nicholls are ready. The younger crew coming through are going to be more dangerous than the top three.

From the Daily Telegraph, this is good signs in regards to Cody!

Wayne Bennett - Cody Walker is staying at South Sydney

Wayne Bennett has boldly declared five-eighth Cody Walker will spurn interest from the Gold Coast Titans to sign a new deal with South Sydney.

The Rabbitohs have presented their final offer to Walker for a two-year contract extension that will keep the former NSW Origin No.6 at Redfern until 2022.

Rabbitohs boss Shane Richardson declared the club could do no more to keep Walker after making a $1.3 million offer and the ball was now in the player’s court.

Walker, 29, started his professional career in the Titans’ under-20s team in 2009 alongside current Gold Coast captain Ryan James, and had received interest from the club to return to Queensland.

However, Rabbitohs coach Bennett says that won’t be happening, guaranteeing Walker will ink a new deal before Christmas to remain at South Sydney.

“Cody isn’t going anywhere – he will stay at Souths,” Bennett told The Courier-Mail.

“We just have to do a deal and the deal is close to being done.

“We won’t lose a bloke like Cody Walker. You can’t easily replace a player of his ability. There’s now an offer on the table so it will be finalised soon.”

Walker is one of the NRL’s great late-bloomers.

He floated between the Titans, Panthers, Storm and Rabbitohs lower grade teams between 2009-15 before earning an NRL debut at South Sydney in 2016.

Walker has made 96 NRL appearances in the past four seasons, barely missing a game, and is now considered to be a crucial part of South Sydney.

While he is not off-contract until the end of the 2020 season, Walker’s management is hoping to secure his future in the coming weeks.

“We have an offer from Souths now and we are working through it,” said Walker’s manager Matt Rose.

“Hopefully we come to an agreement in the next fortnight but it’s all looking positive.

“At this stage, everything is moving towards a deal with Souths. They had to look at their cap situation with Sam Burgess retiring, so we were happy to wait and see how they landed. Now we have picked up talks and we should get something done.

Sam Burgess’s medical retirement could free-up plenty of cap space.
“I believe in the next two to three weeks we will get something done. Cody isn’t off-contract until the end of next year, so there’s been no need to rush the process.

“He’s had quite a bit of interest. Cody could earn more money elsewhere but there’s other factors. He really enjoys playing under Wayne and I believe he could sign one more deal after his next contract.”

Even if Wayne Bennett can convince Jai Arrow to head to South Sydney, the supercoach will be forced to wait until 2021 if he wants the Gold Coast star to be Sam Burgess' successor.

Titans officials are in no mood to release their gun forward early from his current deal, and remain hopeful the 24-year-old will accept their revised three-year offer.

Gold Coast boss Dennis Watt expects an answer from Arrow in the next week and said the Queensland Origin representative would remain on the holiday strip in 2020, regardless of where he agreed to pledge his long-term future.

Souths would love the chance to get Arrow to Redfern next year, especially with the gaping hole left by Burgess' retirement, as well as the departure of his younger brother George to the Super League.

Our focus is on retaining Jai and extending his contract, and [releasing him early] is not something we'll consider," Watt said. "Jai is rock solid. He's a real asset to this club, the game and the Gold Coast community.

We are hopeful things will be resolved by next week. We think a decision is imminent.

"We've been respectful of Jai and his management. Him leaving early is not even a consideration for us. We're focused on extending his tenure, that's our priority."

Arrow was given permission by the Titans a few months ago to test the market early so his contract situation would not become too much of a distraction for their latest campaign. Wests Tigers were another club keen to lure Arrow to Sydney.

Bennett has worked with Arrow in the past and even went public with his desire to be re-united with the youngster. The chance to add Arrow to his starting pack alongside a fellow young-gun prop like Liam Knight, also 24, has plenty of appeal.

Souths continue to sweat on an answer from five-eighth Cody Walker and a new deal with the club not prepared to go anywhere near the $850,000-a-season his camp are holding out for.

Walker spent time on the Gold Coast in high school but is not in the club's sights.

Arrow has made a point of leaving negotiations to his manager and stated in the past his next deal will be heavily influenced by his model partner Taylah Cannon.

Here we go then Southy, seems here comes our big play.

Both Arrow and Latrell would be awesome.

Still I really think we need Arrow here a year early.
Being realistic I think Arrow will re sign with the tits Latrell extend with rorters and now Fifita is staying long term with broncs. But we still have Bryson :relaxed: Don't worry though our young guys will aim up and we'll uncover a few new stars! Top 4 certainties
