The tigs are prepared to fork out nearly a mill for latrell why not the whole 700 to 750 for gags? I agree we shouldnt pay anything, though im all for letting gags go for mitchel

You start paying that cash for Gagai and every back in the game would want a million a season. Besides that, you absolutely screw your cap paying a dime a dozen winger that much for very little on field return.

It is why managers are expecting a centre like Mitchell should be getting a million a season. The fact is, that is big overs for Latrell. How Gagai got his contract is inexplicable and every player manager who has a winger on his books looks at it and makes the argument that his player can do just as good a job, maybe even tackle a bit so is worth more.

Incredibly stupid.

If Souths get anyone go, they'd have enough. I'm waiting to see if this Arrow signs with us first. What they are preparing to pay him is questionable. I'm not sure he's done enough to command that sort of money. He certainly doesn't look like a player that can go into battle for your team. But, then again he might go OK up the middle. It's unknown and a fair bit to pay an unknown. I'd grab Boyd and Mitchell myself.

Maybe Arrow had second thoughts when word came out that Fifita was extending with the broncos?

Have you actually seen Jai Arrow play? Going into battle through the middle is how i would describe him as a player!
Arrow has carried the Gold Coast pack for the past two years while Shannon Boyd has spent more time gasping for air on the bench than running the ball.

Never seen him at all other than that origin game. What I saw there was average at best. Are you sure you aren't mixing him up with Ryan James? I'm not certain about Arrow that's all. I hope he turns out to be another Sam for us, but that's hope only.

IMG_20191212_081041.jpg Here's a player we could get. Not bad either. Part of a gran final winning side as well. Kyle Turner is currently running around the oval doing laps up in Coonabarrabran. (Wherever That Is)

Coonabarabran is near my hometown, Mendooran , over an hour to Gunnedah. Souths should try and resign him, he did pretty well last season, especially in the centres. Injuries haven't been kind to Kyle but he is better and more experienced than some. Get him back !!!! Cost won't be a factor. Big Tom Burgess needs to be working on getting back into line quicker after making a tackle he was to slow last year and made for some holes in our defence.

Apparently Souths are still working towards having Arrow in 2020, hopefully some good news next week.
Look the titans can sprout and threaten any propaganda they like to influence Arrows decision, after its all said and done and he signs with us its a game changer, they need his money for mitchell, they are tight and dont have much, the situation will change

That's true mate.

I still haven't seen anything official from the broncos on Fifita yet?

Arrow mostly plays lock for GC but can play prop.
He's a workhorse in the middle of the park and will contribute quality in both defence and attack a lot like Sam but without the aggression/ill-discipline. What makes him an ideal buy for Souths imo is his leadership at a young age. He may not go on to captain the club but he will be a part of the leadership group, probably from the very beginning.

To compare 2019 stats...

Jai Arrow

APPEARANCES 17
TRIES 1
TACKLE BREAKS 59
AVERAGE HIT UPS 14.5
POST CONTACT METRES 867.9
OFFLOADS 24
TACKLES MADE 519
TACKLE EFFICIENCY 89.5%
AVERAGE RUNNING METRES 135.6
TOTAL RUNNING METRES 2305

Sam Burgess
APPEARANCES 19
TRIES 7
TACKLE BREAKS 30
AVERAGE HIT UPS 13.8
POST CONTACT METRES 873.2
OFFLOADS 12
TACKLES MADE 482
TACKLE EFFICIENCY 85.1%
AVERAGE RUNNING METRES 132.9
TOTAL RUNNING METRES 2525

Stats aren't everything but they paint a very nice picture for what Souths want/need from him, very similar numbers for the man he's coming in for. I'm not saying he would be another Sam Burgess but I'm confident that he would fill the void that has been left and make it his own in his time at the club.

His 2018 stats are even better when the Titans has a few more wins

Other stats that might make an interesting comparison dropped ball, penalties, time in sin bin, suspensions. More pluses for Arrow.

It also may be contributed to the fact that if there isn't many other workers in the forwards, it may be very easy to be the star of the show or look like a worldbeater. Anyway, I'm my opinion he's still unknown. He could come to Souths and absolutely kill 'em, or he could end up looking like he's more interested in acting.

I saw a lot of him in 2019 Pete, he’s not a Sam but we know we won’t be able to replace Sam, Arrow is still a very good player though high workrate can bust some tackles with a quick play the ball too and has a couple of offloads in him.

We need a forward anyway. I'm just hoping he's the right option.
