So this year is as good as over. 2020 I don't see how we improve... The positive is we won't get all these Thurs and Fri night games. So won't ruin our weekends so early
The bad deals are too long including the coach. 2 more bad years coming I reckon before changes can be made
Desperately need a hooker, canvas everywhere, the mountains of PNG if we must. That’d be my first priority. Good, clean, quick service with a running game.
I'm really looking forward to 2020. They have already signed a new winger. Rumour is they have signed a Buddah statue to replace DWZ. He also has rubbish hands but is a lot less hot headed, and has a lot more pace. I also heard Dave's mate has got permission to allow Nathan to play with a golden retriever guide dog at his side, because of his impaired vision. They'll teach it to bark when it sees a gap.
Even better, why don't we start a 2024 thread? Free of Dave, Dave's mate and perhaps Dave's mate's son.

Nine “depth” signings is all we can afford next year. Penrith can’t sign a marque for until 2021 season when James, Dylan and possibly Tyrone get moved on.
Anyone coming off contract at seasons end can close the door on there way out say goodbye to maloney and we might improve.
The sad thing is I think Maloney has been better than Cleary. So even letting him go doesn't fix much just gives cap room
He let in 2 tries v Souths. His side was the side the WT carved up. Same too last night. He'd be next on my list to drop him and DWZ
Souths game too. Some poor misses defensively. WT he was the half down the side that was carved up. He wouldn't be in my 17 next game
I don’t think Maloney has been better at all. He’s one of the top paid halves in the comp leading the worst attack. He has had some nice moments but he is constantly putting us under pressure with penalties and his defence is terrible again.
Maloney hasn’t been that bad. Our line running is no existent, something we got from CHN and Yeo Kikau needs to be used as a decoy more often. He’s just getting hammered. Edwards is average and I’d have stuck with Aekins. We messed up by not picking a hooker and sticking with them. Constantly changing or running two hookers is not the answer. Above all else, we’re poorly coached. Can’t fix that straight away but I’d be moving on Ciraldo and getting in someone who can do the job. Roosters lauded Jason Taylor as an assistant for years. Where’s he at? We’ve gone five steps forward to go one back. I’d even get Furner as an assistant. Anyone with proper NRL experience and know how
Neither are playing very well imo I just think Maloney is a lot further from where we need him. He’s just a weakness in defence that he isn’t covering with his attack anymore. I mean there must be problems with what Cleary is coaching giving his history but Jimmy just comes up with too many crucial penalties and misses for mine.
Maloney is just pointless to keep, he’s the type of player to have if we’re going on a finals run. That’s not happening. It’s going to take some guts on Ivan’s behalf to move him on and take the risk on Luai. We may as well start building for next year. Plus it may give us enough room to sign a hooker & a fullback.
