I am backing Luai to succeed and have a long and successful career for the panthers.

I would like to see burton given some time at fullback in reserves, he could be the next Tommy T.
I would also have Naden on the wing and put Burns in the centres with creighton if we can’t sign anyone.
I know he only had one game there but he made some great passes, smashed some knights in defence and had a good step and turn of speed.

Jerome has vision and the ability to lay on points and he should break the line more than Maloney ever did so I really think we will be fine. Burton will get a shot there at some point and hopefully keep the pressure on. I’m not particularly worried about the halves next year outside of wanting to see Burton get a shot, I think we are well situated with Cleary/Luai and Burton backing up. We need to get our defence and attitude right for every game and improve the attacking plan, that is what our improvement really hinges on imo. If Edwards can be solid like the back half of this year then we have a good spine and forward pack, questions marks remain over the outside backs but if we get the first two right the backs will fall into place.

I did a rant video on player managers if that topic interests anyone. I do mention the Panthers and the change away from long contracts. Speaking of that do we have anymore long term? I forget how long Nathan is signed for.

Brenko Lee couldn't get a start at the worst team in the comp last year, couldn't get a start at a shit raiders side in 2014 and 2015, and only played regularly at a shit dogs side in 2017.

He's far from what we need.

Do you have proof of this occuring ?

If not you could be opening yourself up into a legal mind field. Re Mark Geyer and what happened with his daughter.

I have no idea what it has cost us to bring in Api Koroisau but at the end of the day we let two hookers leave in Katoa and Egan. Katoa was never a fan favourite although I thought he was more than decent despite being much maligned. Egan was brought in as a kid, highly regarded, touted as the next Cameron Smith, rightly or wrongly and has been discarded before really being given sufficient time to show his true worth. In my opinion both Katoa & Egan were a victim of poor game plans and were restricted in what they were allowed to do. Some here think Api is a huge upgrade on Katoa & Egan and while he is a good footy player I’m not convinced he is the huge upgrade particularly if we are paying him well in excess of what we were paying Katoa and Egan. We can only hope Api doesn’t sustain a season ending injury early in 2020 because if he does we will be back to square one.

We do have Mitch Kenny in the wings. So all is not lost. I saw Katoa\s service as being too slow. I think the club would have liked to keep Egan but it was not to be.

I rate api . I rate him well, was upset when he left.

We chose to keep Mitch Kenny and let the other two leave. The question being is Mitch Kenny a better option than the two we allowed to leave?

The problem with Api Koroisau is he hasn’t been playing 80 minutes for a long time, he was basically sharing the dummy half duties at the Sea Eagles.

Given his recent history are we again in the situation we are are relying upon a two hooker rotation in 2020 with in my opinion is not the ideal scenario and leaves the bench light on. I am aware Mitch Kenny can player back row/lock but frankly so could the two we let go.

My opinion only but I would have stuck solid with Katoa and or Egan and spent the money on an outside back I just don’t think Koroisau is going to be the saviour some think he is going to be, good player that he is.

I don't believe Katoa kicked on the way it was hoped. Personally I think he'd stopped developing as a player. Time will tell on whether Api plays 80 mins at hooker or whether he will share it with Kenny.. I think it will be the later.

Neither Katoa nor Egan kicked on as they should have? In my view this was a coaching issue not a player talent issue. It is a disgrace the role our dummy halves has been required to play both under Hook and more recently last season under Ivan. Both were capable of so much more but were not allowed to deliver on there talents. It is ancient history now and I hope both players the best with there new clubs.

Neither Egan or Katia is anywhere near Api. Katoa debuted in 2015 and still hadn’t put it together how long should we keep hoping? Four seasons in the first grade squad and he was still throwing forward passes to often. Both Egan and Katoa had poor years, Kenny had easily gone ahead of both just by giving half decent service. Blaming Hook or Cleary for these two not kicking on is ridiculous they were given every chance to succeed here, for two years they were the hookers and they were not good.

I'd much rather Kenny on the bench if we expect Api to be playing 80. Much better in defence than the other two.

Assuming we had any say in the matter, I don't think keeping Kenny over Katoa and Egan was objectively the wrong choice either. Kenny had some limitations last year, but he brought a ton of energy and enthusiasm (which coincided with our winning streak) and his service was decent at worst. Given it was his debut year I think writing him off would be silly.

Egan and Katoa cannot play backrow/lock - At least no where near as effectively as Kenny can
