I wish people stalk talking about a squib kick. There is a reason why they aren’t common as they can also result in a big play if not done properly. Everyone is implying that squib will be executed perfectly.
When mahomes is on there simply isn’t
game plan. Best nfl game I’ve seen or sports game I have seen in general.

tough loss, not much bills could do. The ot rules are just stupid. We had no right of reply and shouldn’t be discriminated against over a coin toss.

One proposed OT rule change I don't mind is the first to 8. 2 point try's are anything but guaranteed and the defense has one more chance to get a stop.

With shared possession, ok the Bills score, then the Chiefs score again and Bills are still upset because the Chiefs got 2 possessions to their one. Neither defense was stopping anything at that stage.

I can't remember the last time I saw a squib kick returned for a big play but could be wrong

Bills will be second guessing few things, but a 2 point try could have been better option. Make it 37-33 instead possibly. Either way OT would be out of the equation.

its not just a big return, it is if not executed properly kc could have the ball at there own 40 yard line if not more downfield.

Nothing was stopping Mahomes or Allen for that matter. Both defenses were so fatigued that i have no doubt if OT rules were different it would've finished in a tied finish.

If there 2 instances which shocked me it was Bills twice not going for it on 4th and short. I was stunned we didn't go for it when KC went up 17-14

You're in denial mate
That game was won by Allen. He and Daboll and that offence won the football game

And poor decisions in coaching on ST's and the final plays defensively cost them the game. OF COURSE the Squib kick should have been used, there is no reason to not trust the unit to excecute that. Coaching scared.

Would have taken the clock down to 8-9 seconds
Next play, tackle and hold everyone. Take the 5 yard penalty and chew up another 3-5 seconds...

This shit wasnt second guessed, it was first guessed by thousands of people. Allen and the Bills offence won this game and were horribly let down by coaching. It's really that simple.

After having a think about the Bills game and the OT rules, I kind of do understand why those OT rules are in place.
The simple reason is the fact that in this present day, games really do need to come to a conclusion as quick as possible after that fulltime siren at the end of regular time. In that Bills game, Im pretty sure the end of regulation time was around 12:30am over there. In its nature, NFL is a long game to play.
In league, I was of the opinion that if a team cannot finish an opposition in regulation time, they are kind of leaving it to the gods to decide a winner. The OT rules would be an equivalent to golden try in RL.
Horrible luck to the Bills, but they had 60 regulation minutes to win the game outright.

you mean thousands of arm chair critics? If you think the squib is the difference to the game after the shoot out they just had I don’t know what to say to you. You are predicting a squib is an automatic precise kick pinpointed to where you want it. A squib kick is a longer version of an onside kick. And I don’t need to bring up examples of botched onside kicks. I think you should try it yourself to squib kick. Much harder then what it looks.

as I mentioned the game was lost when buffalo didn’t take advantage of 4th and shorts throughout the game. For some reason we went conservative when buffalo had been going rogue on 4th down conversions most of this year and particularly the last month.

yeah I get it, but it still doesn’t mean a team shouldn’t have a right of reply. Not sure what professional sport out there doesn’t allow the opposition atleast a chance to reply. Possession is everything in the nfl, it’s not like soccer.

Hell goal kicking shoot out I would be content with.

They did manage that incredible TD on 4th and 13

Butker nails that early FG and it is a moot point anyway. To much focus on the final play, ignoring all of those possibilities that came before it.

A kicking shootout would be worse.

Every off season the NFL talk about OT rules and agree to do nothing or make a slight change like the 10 minute regular season instead of 15 minutes. Don't be surprised if the NFL talks about it and decides to leave it as is again.

I get the disappointment for Bills fans. The path was open for a Superbowl victory with Packers going down and the incredible form Josh Allen is in.

Having a right of reply in the case of a TD in opening drive is not going to increase the game time by that much. Make it so the right of reply team must go for the 2 PAT if they score a TD to ensure a winner at that point.

Disagree it's the same as golden try. Scoring a try in first set of 6 from a kick off is rare, scoring a TD on opening drive is common. Additionally, the bills offence is what kept them in that game and the bills offence didn't get a chance to have a say in OT. Perhaps they would have went 4 and out but we will never know.

The same issue is just kicked down the road. At 6-6 on OT they keep playing?

If one team has a mandatory 2pt attempt the coin-toss complaints fire up again.

I’m not a professional nfl kicker who practises this all year long lol

There was 13 seconds left, shoot out or not, 13 seconds, and there was clear, easy and obvious avenues to relatively safely wipe off half if not more of that!

It was a botched coaching job, absolutely wild that you cant see it or refuse to accept that

up 3 with 13 seconds left and kicking off, they should not have lost that football game. Simple as that.

And also congrats on not squib kicking because you were scared of a return, how’d that pan out?
The bills decided they were more scared of Byron effing Pringle on a return than they were of Pat Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce
And they might have cost themselves a ring in doing so

Mandatory 2 PAT for both teams then. That would more often than not resolve things if both teams score a TD. There are plenty of ways to do it, as long as both teams get the ball at least once I'm happy.
