Tickets to origin 1 at the MCG have been reduced to $35 for an adult.

Suncorp has nearly sold out for game 2, just waiting on gold ($210 a pop behind the posts level 2) to sell out. Then the tix held for group bookings and restricted view will be released.

Sales for game 3 haven’t really moved at all.

Not surprised at the price drop in Melb. Whilst crowds for AFL and the Storm here have come back to a degree this year, there's a noticeable drop off (~20% in AFL) on 2019, with issues around ticketing, seating and transportation having an impact, along with the conservatism and crowd limitations associated with COVID. Hopefully at that price point, there's a lot more interest. We do need to see more advertising down here, I haven't seen nearly as much as I would expect for such a premium event.

Absolutely. Was there big talk of the fact that Richmond pulled 18k against GWS on Saturday night? Even though it was at Marvel that is a pretty big yikes for them.

edit: just googles and yes lots of talk about that crowd (and the drop).

And the AFL weren’t happy. Richmond bitched and moaned about having to play there and basically told their supporters not to turn up. There was a very blunt call after from the AFL to Richmond.

I’d expect crowds to be off for all sports for at least this year outside of traditional high drawing games

is the tribalism Vlandys keeps talking about as the future of the nrl?
The round 1 clash was also terrible crowd wise. What’s the point of having two clubs from a similar area if they can’t get a half decent crowd against each other.

hopefully the sharks can return to their ground by next year? Kogorah has consistently underdelivered for the last few years. Are there many dragon fans there still? I know they have a lot of fans but where do they live?

not a whole lot of Warriors fans up Gosford way. Didn’t really matter last year but I’m actually kinda surprised they didn’t look at playing at a Sydney venue this season to get more of the Sydney fan base to attend.

Storm members can finally sit in their normal seats for our next home game. The first home game was only 50%capacity. Last home game was upped to 75%..

i spose gosford is as neutral as you'll get so i get that

maybe some more regional venues should be scheduled if they're no longer going back to NZ in 2021... the crowds would be bigger for starters then the rubbish 3500 to 4500 they're getting usually at gosford

I’m surprised they didn’t base themselves at Redcliffe. would have been nicer and cheaper.

a lot of NZers in Brisbane too

as usual though the nrl have failed miserably, this was the best chance they’ll ever have to get the good people of gosford back engaged with the nrl after the fiasco of the northern Eagles and theyve done nothing to make hay out of the situation. They should have been promoting the hell out of it, got all schools and local clubs in the area involved and filled the stadium. Every kid in gosford should have got a complimentary warriors membership for the year!
