The Game 2021 Crowd Watch

Roosters missing some players at shitty SCG against an out of town club that were also out of form. Not great but I was honestly expecting sub 10k.

i drove up from Canberra as it was a Saturday 530 game, it was perfect weather for the game, and it was Jake’s farewell. I was expecting 15-20k, pretty disappointing, also the crowd leaving early because we were not going to win, but didn’t hang around for the presentation was pretty poor form.

Broncos v Melbourne has has a bit of sales surge after playing well. Still looks like we can expect 23-25k. It’s a shame that it’s a Thursday, Friday would draw 35k.

I get it for tragics like us but I didn’t think a player who retired a couple of months ago being honoured by the club was enough of a motivator to get 20k fans, sadly. I know a couple of people who left early after Rads’ third report. They reckon they’ve had enough.

WWhy do fans have enough and leave early or not go to the game as it's only under 2 hours of your time every 2 weeks...I had enough of work but I can't leave early or not go in.
If you stop going to the gym you not see results just have hope and enjoy and support the game.

I don’t get it either. The guys I was referring to leaving earlier had had enough of the sin bin directive, claiming they’re done with the game. I’m guessing that’s a ‘heat of the moment’ - at least I hope so, scenario.

The AFL is on course for its worst average since the mid 1990s. I would hardly call it a dying sport.

This isn't rocket science lads, the pandemic is going to cast a loooong shadow.

I am in Brissie right now and someone who had travelled up with us from Sydney after finishing quarantine a month ago had a massive panic attack at the New Farm Markets on Saturday (You may have seen us!) over how normal and crowded it was. People are still going to be uncomfortable over returning to normal.

Any ideas on what souths-parra will draw?
Souths have been hammering the ads on social but I don't know that it will reap rewards.

Would be surprised if they cracked anything greater than 15-20k, especially after taking a rogering from Penrith on Sunday.

the answer to everything is for people to get vaccinated and anyone who refuses to be vaccinated should be put in jail.

20k would be good after Sunday!

Where do we think Origin one will be moved? I think GIO is the front runner, they’d be able to sell it out at a premium on day one.

Sydney have proven that taking it there wouldn’t result in a big crowd unless fire sold IMO (based on game three ticket sales) and heading to Perth or Adelaide presents some risks.

Brisbane should be ruled out because two games back to back is unfair.

This is getting mental...no lockdowns for Rugby League when the Spanish Flu hit just after the destructive and pointless WW1.
