Congrats to all the Northerners who now don't have to spend ridiculous amounts of money just to get to a game they love.
Now that the precedent is set, I hope other regional centres get SOO games too. Newcastle needs one, Canberra needs one as well. These places give so much to the game and it's long overdue they got an elite game in their region.

What precedent, there's a lockdown in Victoria. The game would've been at Bankwest if the NSW govt paid up.

Had good laugh at the scientists on NRL 360 who were declaring Townsville is a rugby league heartland...not to mention not long after that Rothfield thinks the Panthers V Tigers game is being played on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. :)

Origin is a parody of itself now. Qld marinating in their own self importance and arrogance while simultaneously sooking about NSW dominance and arrogance from decades ago.
A ratings induced free for all were when everyone speaks to the media is boring predetermined hum drum yack-yack.

The only thing missing besides what it used to be, is the lack of Roy & H.G. calling it.

And yet, another 8 long days to go.

It’s so funny seeing the Queenslanders hanging on to this perception. The entire team has seen a poker machine and grew up in the NRL era. The current team has no link to the pre 80’s days.

It’s funny when old Gallen used to have a shit stir people used to complain they were offended but now nobody sledges one another and those same people complain they aren’t offended anymore.

Ponga is a huge blow, but Grant coming in gives the Qld side a ton of spark in the ruck. He is a bluddy good un'.

They not going to play Capewell at centre are they? It only worked last time (when they didn't have a solid first grader alternative) because NSW were terrible and Gutherson was really really terrible. The one time they got it right lead to the softest NSW try in SOO history.

Capewell is a lot improved since his last SOO outing, and will be solid whether he plays centre or backrow. Mght up ending being the darkhorse again and cut NSW apart just like that brilliant try he scored V Souths in Dubbo.

No he doesn't have the lateral movement to defend at centre if the opposition are competent enough to test him, they just got lucky once. Ponga isolated him and only needed like a 2m wide corridor to turn him inside out this season. Turbo or Mitchell will smoke movers as skilled as themselves in space, they're setting Capewell up to fail.

Remember two things:

1) Origin must always be a close contest, no matter what
2) EVERYONE loves a decider

Imagine if they just let each game play out naturally, instead of constantly feeling the need to interfere whenever one team needs a leg-up? Makes me wish Origin was a best of 5 series and I can't remember the last time I felt less anticipation about an upcoming series with this awful rule changes...

In some ways, a lot of Qlders remind me of Souths fans- think that they have the moral high ground because of the footy team they support and have a massive 'Book Of Feuds' they hang onto, stirring up ghosts from decades ago to keep the hate alive for their rivals while conveniently ignoring all the times they've done exactly what they accuse the other mob of doing....because it's them and they're different/ special.

Game 1 was sold out in 2 minutes so Origin is right where it should be. The Mighty Maroons by 10. Queenslander!
