Nope it's just me. As I said I expect other to not like it. Just find these kick tries a lot less exciting than tries through the hands. That is a personal opinion, and I know others may not agree.
Some tries off kicks are a thing of beauty like when someone kicks long for JAC to flash onto. Most are boring 50/50 bombs.

the boringness of kicking is that there are basically no bad kicks anymore. It is such an easy soft end to almost every set. Most tries off kicks are due to spilt bombs. The game needs to punish kicking on the last somehow like if the kick is caught on the full by the opponent it is a big advantage to the receiving team (7 tackle set, free play, tap from halfway ... something like that).

I like this idea! Sounds reasonable too.

Two points for field goals outside the 40m line
To encourage more unstructured play and increase the chances of a result changing in the final moments of a game, a two-point field goal will be awarded for teams who kick a field goal from outside the 40m line.

The new rule will provide an incentive to seek an additional point scoring opportunity at critical times of a match, particularly with limited time remaining on the clock in each half.

Get rid of it I say because the first one was against the Broncos. lol :p

Bunker Reviews
Where the on-field referee believes a try is scored the referee will award a try and the bunker will review the decision in the background. A conversion attempt will not be permitted until the bunker is satisfied a try has been scored.
Was thinking about this over the weekend. Have we had a situation yet where a try is awarded but a conversion isn't wanted or needed? What happens then?

If a team declines a conversion attempt then they're obviously wanting to get on with things in a hurry. Does the clock continue to count down while the bunker does their thing?

Also if a golden point game is won with a try then the try is called and full-time is called straight away. It'd be pretty deflating for players & fans to have a golden point try awarded and then everyone has to stand around while the review happens in the background.

It's a ridiculous suggested rule change, but so are most of the ones they have done in the last two seasons. It's clear they are listening to a very small cohort, so what's even the point of arguing anymore.

Any chance we could just leave the rules alone for 5 minutes or so?
Let the game catch up with itself.

Here’s a novel idea… let’s make some more rule changes… right before the semi finals…

It might be Wayne Pearces quote… but make no mistake where it’s really coming from…

Christian Welch - player of the year.

(and yes Greeny, I know…)

Why not just admit you're watching.

No one is going to think any less of you because that's impossible.
