This is my take.

The first try we were given was an absolute howler with a clear obstruction in the lead up and I doubt it would have been awarded if we weren't 26 points down.

Nope. Let me explain it again for those who are on the slow side. If your team has as good a season as Penriff had last year and again this year and you can't capitalise on that and win the GF then you have well and truly choked. I would say the same thing about us if we were in the same situation.

The point (that went straight over that Penriff fans head) is that Penriff have a much better season record than Souths had the years we lost. When you are that dominant throughout the regular season and don't cap it off with a Premiership, you have choked BIG TIME.

Going on Penriths form this year and last then yes they are rightful favourites. However favourites don't always win, even when they still play well so it is a case of either team is capable of winning.

I have absolutely no problem admitting to that. Sure there were 2 incredibly good teams we had to get past (Tigers,Raiders) to win it all but considering we had beaten every other team at their home grounds we should at least have made the GF.
