If I was Payten then I wouldn't be too unhappy.

They barely fired a shot in attack but defensively few teams would restrict Penrith to 4 tries with such a surfeit of possession.

And Taumalolo wasn't running his blood to water in an 'unwinnable' game so he will have plenty in the tank for next week's more important clash with the Dragons.

Enjoyed being at a home game with a reasonable crowd again, even though it was very muggy conditions. Not a great game but an easy win in the end and a shut out so I can’t complain. They obviously need to step it up against the better teams in the coming weeks.

Kept them to nil though, which is nice, first time in 55 seasons first up too. The attack needs some work, a few tries bombed. Cows never looked like scoring.

Out of all the teams that have played so far, while the Cowboys were not the worst, they certainly have the worst prospects for making finals. Titans will get better as the season goes on, Broncos look like they will have a dig, Flanagan (a guy I have knocked in the past) could have some promise with the dogs, Manly if fit (a big if....lol) can beat a lot of teams.
The Cowboys.....man they have some issues. The halves.....Morgan is not involved enough for a million dollar player. Clifford just guesses in his playmaking.....he has no idea,.
Marsters and Hamiso in the centres......got to be shitting me. Two hookers I think were on the bench.....neither of them were ballplayers or running type forwards. Holmes is on nearly a million and on the wing....deserves to be there though as he is a shit fullback.

I thought they have been the worst of all teams so far. Worse than Manly - who actually looked like they could score if they hung on to the ball.

Penrith got the job done but need a lot more against higher quality opposition. I reckon the roosters or Storm could have put 50 plus on the cowboys tonight.
