Mate it's a penalty every time. 'tackled on suspicion', penalised every day of the week.
I don't agree with the rule, but it is what it is.
The man didn't have the ball.

that’s what makes the non call when Tedesco was grabbed while chasing a kick for a try outrageous! Yeah he broke the tackle attempt but it cost him the try. Seems if you dive you get the call, if kikau just bumped off it would be a no call

Lets add some context here. Plenty of sides do exactly that and nothing happens.
Is it penriths fault the refs decide to act on the rules they’ve ignored for several years?

Mate they will ignore it this coming 2nd half. That's my point.

You see a million of those every weekend
I know mate, but the rule is there.
A player who is not holding the ball shall not be tackled or obstructed.

They can't change it to 'ok to tackle a decoy runner without the ball' as we will have endless arguments on field over who is and who isn't a decoy vs a guy just running in the play.

Yeah I'm not sure either, do they expect the player to just jump out of the way.

Kikau is running an honest decoy and could have easily received the ball, if you run a decoy it has to be ok to tackle that person.

Absolutley

Sitilli has to commit to that before he sees where the ball is going.

You just know there will be a point in the 2nd half where we are attacking and Penrith give 3 6 against in a row. That would be a sin bin wouldn't it?
If its blatant holding down a metre out it should be a sin bin. Roosters really pushing the envelope in this game.

If you run a tough line at a backrower, surely you are expecting to get hit, just the same as you are expecting to receive the ball

Lol getting called on your strategic cheating sure is upsetting. It’s ok, putting an end to the way your team purposely cheats is good for the game. Everything will work out for the best.

You are kidding arent you. Every team was holding down after 6 agains and even though they said they would sin bin they havent.....until now.

If you think the Roosters "invented" it you are deluded

Dude decoy players are tackled all the time

How often have you heard "the player has made a defensive decision" when obstruction plays are looked at by the video ref.

Lol no mate. Your team does it purposely, they’re the only ones. It just happened, right in front of your eyes. He got sent off for it. It was fantastic. Justice.

This game is similar to their earlier game in the season, Roosters were serving it up until they got a player sent for 10 and from that moment on it was all Penrith
