I think he had no real choice to be honest, the club was immovable with the direction they wanted to take.

It’s not just the money, it’s all the opportunity and new experiences he will get as enters the twilight of his career. New people and stuff.

Just to cheer everyone up a bit, his replacement is an unknown quantity, so it’s important to open your heart to him. That’s the cold logic of it. He may be as good!

Normally people get labelled as traitors etc, but I hope you guys find some small amount of forgiveness for him.

Normally people get labelled as traitors etc, but I hope you guys find some small amount of forgiveness for him.

I really don't think anyone will label him as traitorous.Everybody here understands why it played out as it did. I know I'll still be cheering him on in his climb up the all-time pointscorers list.He can achieve that without me having to cheer for the Drongos to win.

Yeah, it’s done now, so no point criticising the club or being bitter.

It’s too great opportunity for him. I would have taken it too tbh. He will learn and develop at a person and that’s a good thing.

If we have perhaps it will be wise to just upgrade Taffe to a full contract so we can start to give him a taste off the bench

We havent listed any development players, we are allowed 6, they are eligible to play after round 10

Well I hope it’s not true. But if it is it would be to do with the treatment of Reyno. Reyno was the reason Cookie came here. I’m sure he’s feeling as low as I am right now and I know he’s close to Reyno.

Souths have played their cards now inspirational halfback, club legend and skipper offered a poor poor deal and not thought of as a priority come on down other Souths aspiring halfbacks but when you get to 30 we will only give you a one year offer and if you want anymore than that for some security for your family you can walk!

There it is, finally confirmed. We now have closure. Gotta admit, I am feeling super gutted now that it's confirmed, shattered to be honest. Like a wave of emotion has come over me. I absolutely adore this guys so having it confirmed that he's going hurts, I'm sure I speak for a lot of Souths fans when I say that. Certainly a very sad day. I know we've had a lot of time to process and prepare but I still just cannot believe that this is his last year with us, cannot believe it honesty.

However, you cannot be angry at the club, we all know my views on that so I won't repeat it. Feel like we have made the right decision for the future of our club. Just gutted at the situation as I never thought I'd see our man in another jersey.

I will do a proper tribute to Reyno later tonight or over the weekend, for now I just need a moment.

Wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to Souths. Reynolds leaving pretty much confirms a retooling period. Freeing up his cash could allow the club to target some genuine young talent in the market.

Gotta say, I like Reyno's attitude. Despite confirmation he is indeed departing next year, he is still all about Souths and all about winning it in 2021. Really wants to go out on a high. That speaks volumes of the kind of person he is.
