This is where it's so lucky that we're the Rabbitohs. Souths are probably the most well supported NSW club in Queensland and we always have great support at games in Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. So I'm not really too fussed where we play out of as we'll have good support everywhere which will make the boys feel as at home as possible.
Yep, plenty of Red and Green faithful north of the border. They will come out in force to support the boys. Happy for them to get the chance to see them play more than they usually would.

So we are going to be based on the Gold Coast and play out of Cbus Super Stadium during this relocation period. I'm quite happy with that. Cbus Super Stadium has always been one of my favourite away Stadiums so I'm quite happy for it to become our home away for home. Plus, Souths always get a good crowd of supporters there so we have great support on the Gold Coast which will help.

Was a rumour today that we were chasing Drew Hutchinson. If I’m being honest Hutcho to replace Reyno lol He isn’t good enough to tie Reyno’s shoe laces.

Fact of the matter is we won’t just be able to replace Reyno like this. My mate sent me a message an hour ago ticketed member like me has been for years and this is what he said:

“the more i see of this comp the more i wont be able to take seeing reyno i another jersey and i can firmly say Walker wouldnt be what he is without Reyno. If we dont win it this year we will be waiting a while again”.

I think he’s nailed that! Cody does what he does off the back of what Reyno does you can’t just replace that combo. Anyone who thinks you can just like that is fair dinkum nuts!

To those that say get over Reyno going etc.... I realise his goneski.

Like my mate says and I agree we come back to the field a bit without Reyno and his game management I believe our window also closes for a little while after this year.

And you watch Cody get criticised for not being quite as good without Reyno, it won’t surprise me. Reyno gives Cody the time and space for him to perform his magic. How some do not see this I’m at a loss to explain! So I certainly won’t be criticising Cody if he dips a bit next year.
My first thought is a lazy rumour to link an out of contract half with a club losing a half.

If the club have had a change of heart though and want a more experienced half, i reckon Kyle Flanagan will be available and is very capable on the field. It's just a question of if there are issues with him that we don't see.

I don't know anything about Flanagans situation, but I have a strong feeling there is something going on with him that hasn't come out yet.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are delighted to announce that John Morris will join the Rabbitohs as an Assistant Coach for the 2022 and 2023 seasons, alongside Ben Hornby who has extended his tenure with the Club for a further two seasons.

Rabbitohs incoming Head Coach Jason Demetriou will lead the 2022 Rabbitohs squad in his first season as an NRL Head Coach with the assistance of a 300-game player and a coach with previous NRL Head Coaching experience in Morris, as well as another assistant with International, State of Origin and Premiership-winning experience that has been working with the Rabbitohs for the past two seasons in Hornby.

Rabbitohs Head of Football, Mark Ellison, said it was important to bed down the coaching structure for 2022 early as the Club pushes forward with its 2021 campaign.

“We’re very happy with the calibre of coaches that will be leading the Club in 2022 and beyond,” Mr Ellison said.

“Jason has done a long coaching apprenticeship in the NRL, United Kingdom, Queensland Cup and New South Wales Cup and he is certainly ready to step up into the Head Coach role.

“For him to be able to call on a young yet experienced group of Assistant Coaches for support is very important and we couldn’t be happier with the coaching team we’ve assembled with him.

“John has shown he has what it takes to coach at the top levels, as has Ben. They have a wealth of playing experience on their side but they have also developed a strong coaching background over the past decade to be the right men to appoint as Assistant Coaches to Jason.

“In saying all of this, we still have a campaign on which to concentrate in 2021, and Jason and Ben will play a big role in supporting Wayne (Bennett) and the team over the next three months as we work towards securing our 22nd premiership for this Club.”

Rabbitohs Senior NRL coaching staff for Season 2022: https://www.rabbitohs.com.au/news/2021/07/15/rabbitohs-senior-nrl-coaching-staff-for-season-2022/\

Very happy with this!!! The appointment of Morris is a fantastic signing! I really rate him as a coach and think he was pretty hard done by at Cronulla. With the roster and injuries he had, he actually did a great job. Seemed to have the respect of players too. Great coach and will be a very valuable assistant Alongside JD and Benny.

We're in good hands next year I hope.
