I think this Milford signing is going to be a lot like the Benji signing. There were some raised eyebrows when we signed Benji but it turned out to be a masterstroke. I truly think Milford is going to be a very astute buy for us.
Yep, I think your are on the money with that post Jim.

No thanks in regards to Scott, too much of an off-field liability.

The Mole - Moses Suli sparks NRL market frenzy after 200m masterclass: https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/nrl-ne...bulldogs/e9496e90-a0fe-4cc7-982a-9e99af1591c4

Is Moses Suli an option for us? I know he had a couple off-field issues a while back but that was years ago, he's turned it around since then. I feel like he has so much potential, it just needs to be unlocked by a good system.

Agreed. If we can get him in consistent form he could be extremely damaging. We would lose out on the tough carries from our own end either. Out of anyone on the market, he's the one I'd go for.

I wouldnt hold my breath, apart for being cap tight our recruitment is substandard and slow

Our recruitment is great, no stupidly buying players willy nilly, I’m certain that the powers that be know exactly who we have in the system, where we see them in the future & where we need to strengthen
But of course we’re “cap tight” you wouldn’t expect a club in a position we’re in & with up to six origin players not to be pushing the cap to its limits

I agree with how successful our team has been managing the salary cap above board is like a rubix cube, we were never in a position to sign a rep calibre player. Yes the squad still needs improving but it will happen with fringe starting buys, just like we did with Host and Milne this year they have been very solid contributors.
So again we shouldn’t be on the edge of our seats waiting for a the announcement of an origin player, but by the end of year we sign another few players like what we did for this season. Then we only need to be concerned with hopefully we signed a Milne over a Moga

Milford open to Brisbane return - NRL Transfer Whispers: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/ed4357e87b84bec2bcbe20ed90b402f2

Also, from Zero Tackle,

State of Origin may have new home

The Seven Network has reportedly put forth a bid to pilfer the State of Origin television rights away from the Nine Network from 2023 onwards.

The free-to-air battle has come to light after John Stensholt and Jessica Halloran of The Australian reported on Wednesday morning that executives at Seven had tabled a bid to the league for the ability to show the three box office events, as well as a single NRL game each week.

Nine currently hold the rights until the cessation of next season, however, they will face stiff competition from Seven and fellow free-to-air rivals Ten as the game's powerbrokers will be desperate to secure the most financially beneficial bid given the constant hits to their hip pocket over the past pair of Covid interrupted seasons.

The pair of journalists reported that a decision from ARLC chairman Peter V'landys and NRL CEO Andrew Abdo would likely be made by Christmas of this year.

It was also reported that the pair would be seeking a deal worth in the vicinity of $600 million until the cessation of 2027 to coincide with the completion of the league's pay-tv deal with Foxtel.

Channel Seven has not hosted free-to-air Rugby League coverage since the 1980s and although they remain keen to broadcast the product, CEO of Seven West Media James Warburton remarked that they would be unlikely to "blow their brains out" to secure the rights.

The remainder of the regular season and the finals will still be broadcast on the Nine Network, as well as on Foxtel and their sports streaming site Kayo.

Souths launch bold bid to extend Bennett’s stay at Redfern club: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...m/news-story/6628b29c3d5243b9a2fe82bccfc48cf6

Big news potentially. I'm sure we'd all absolutely love Wayne to stay, it'd be huge for the club to still have him playing a role next year. However, I just can't see it happening. Although many think this is the wrong time for the NRL to expand, myself included, they seem hell bent on doing so. I think it'll happen and sadly, Wayne will be building a new club next year. Would love to be wrong though!!

Also, on another note, here's the 2021 fan poll if anyone's interested,

Even if the new expansion team is for 24, dosent everyone think he will be working scheming, and recruiting players, he will be talking to them helping them manipulate their contracts so they are free to leave their clubs. I would rather he just go and leave us alone,i dont trust him not to try and pinch players. I dont care what the consensus is,he gave AR gags and sua his advice and blessings to go. Whats to stop him poaching koala or anyone else, he hasnt left 1 team better off when he has left.
