I would love for us to keep Wayne but I'm just worried that by doing so then we may lose JD. If we could convince him to hang on a bit longer then it will be a great outcome.

Even if the new expansion team is for 24, dosent everyone think he will be working scheming, and recruiting players, he will be talking to them helping them manipulate their contracts so they are free to leave their clubs. I would rather he just go and leave us alone,i dont trust him not to try and pinch players. I dont care what the consensus is,he gave AR gags and sua his advice and blessings to go. Whats to stop him poaching koala or anyone else, he hasnt left 1 team better off when he has left.

This narrative that it’s somehow WBs fault that teams underperform & fall apart when he leaves is just bullshit, I can’t believe idiots still grab a hold of it & blame him
Why wouldn’t he give players advice? We constantly praise him for his man management & the way he cares about the well-being & welfare of players
AR leaving had nothing to do with WB, he actually urged the club to keep him, but whilst AR had deals on the table WB was obviously in a position to advise him about one of them
Gagai it seems has an affinity with Newcastle, perhaps his missus is from there? He obviously got a good deal, given his age it’s probably a better deal he could have got with Souths, & as for Sua, I don’t think he’s really fit into our style, he’s ill disciplined & I just don’t think he was on our retention radar
But I don’t think WB will raid the club, it wouldn’t matter where he's working, any new club could do that anyway
I can see them wanting to bring QLDers home, but as Richo said, it’s too early yet anyway, you don’t want to be recruiting players two years out

JD will be coach regardless
If WB stayed he’d be living in QLD & be involved in a consultancy type roll, probably flying to Sydney once or twice a month & having a look at pathways players etc, scouting a bit in QLD, I imagine he’d have more contacts than he’d know what to do with
But I don’t think JD would feel threatened at all, I think he’d welcome it

You didn't get the memo.

According to some particular poster, it's all a Bennett conspiracy to rip off and destroy the club, Reynolds is a traitor, Bennett lured him to the Broncos, Bennett wanted to lure Gagai away to the Broncos (but he joined the Knights), and wanted to lure Sua to the Broncos (but he joined the Dragons), and "poor" Sua has been dropped so that he'll be forced to quit Souths.

C'mon mate get with it, and get on board with the memo, otherwise you'll be abused here......

Damn, perhaps I should embrace the conspiracies & espionage, my life really does seem a bit too vanilla having read what “probably” really happened
Has anyone considered that Bennett is employed by the Roosters & Murdoch to white ant clubs one by one, thus making the chooks chances of success greater? Hmmmm that’s my contribution to this tale of spies, secret agents, infiltration & power beyond our control
I look forward to further developments 😈🥸☠️

Jimmy Brings - The moment Latrell broke Brimson’s jaw - but got off: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...s/news-story/a3d7e73f4e0b2567ac5af07f501853cf

What an absolute BS article from James Hooper. This was two weeks ago and yet we're still talking about it. And even then, how can you possibly say Trell lashes out with the boot? He's clearly just trying to get a quick play-the-ball but Brimson keeps hanging on. There's nothing in it. It's just one of those Rugby League incidents. Yet another example of how poorly Latrell is treated by the media at times.

NRL to trial fresh rule change that would revolutionise kicking tactics: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nr...h/news-story/f70aebdb4db77f73dbff4b985309051e

I'd hate this rule if it came in, it's not needed. If the attacking team can get a perfect kick away into touch on purpose, then they deserve the advantage. That's the way it's been for 113 years and if the rule ain't broke, don't fix it.

From the Sydney Morning Herald,

ANNESLEY STAYING PUT

NRL head of football Graham Annesley has denied growing speculation he’s about to leave the job, going so far as to clear the air with chief executive Andrew Abdo.

Annesley has been linked to jobs with the 2032 Brisbane Olympics and Gold Coast City Council but assured this column he has no intention of moving on.

If that’s the case, he and the game’s powerbrokers have some serious issues to address in the offseason . The game is being strangled by rules, edicts and crackdowns, all of which have left the fan disillusioned with what they are watching.

The overbearing influence of The Bunker, the confusion around set restarts and the heavy- handedness of the Match Review Committee need to be addressed.

There can be no greater example of the madness that’s going on than the two-match suspension of Souths back-rower Keaon Koloamatangi for a crusher tackle that wasn’t a crusher.

Souths would have contested the charge at the judiciary but were intending to give the livewire forward a freshen-up before the finals anyway, so they didn’t bother.

Koloamatangi was penalised while tackling Penrith winger Brett Naden, who turned his back and fell on his backside, looking for a quick play-the-ball .

It’s becoming a cliche what followed: Naden grabbed his neck, Stephen Crichton at dummy half howled in protest to referee Grant Atkins and a penalty was given.

I asked Annesley to talk me through the charge and he emailed this explanation from the MRC: ‘‘ Player Naden runs the ball into a collision with player Koloamatangi. After the collision, player Koloamatangi takes a grip under the arm of player Naden, who attempts to get to the ground. As player Naden goes to the ground, player Koloamatangi forcefully applied unnecessary pressure to the head/ neck and spinal column of player Naden as he maintained his grip, as player Naden lands on the ground. He bends at his waist and lent his body weight on top of the player Naden’s head, which caused excessive flexion of the neck/spinal column. The MRC believe player Koloamatangi did not attempt to release his grip to make the necessary space for player Naden’s head to be cleared in the tackle. This presented an unacceptable risk of injury to the player Naden, who was placed in a vulnerable position.’’ With the greatest of respect to whomever wrote this, what a load of gibber. Koloamatangi (below left) didn’t apply forceful pressure at any stage. His chest ended up on the back of Naden’s neck because Naden twisted in the tackle then fell to the ground. We’re all for banning dangerous tackles and practices. But the NRL needs to stop conjuring reasons to prevent its players from playing. Head office has lost sight of the fact players are the reason people watch the game.

Just got an email this morning from Souths re what to do with the rest of your membership for last 4 home games of 2021.

We chose option 3 put money towards next years membership for the last 4 games of the year.

Money is very tight currently and I just had to help my Sister pay for her surgery and the cats just been in the animal hospital. We are trying to save to buy a house also. And lastly we were not happy with the treatment of Adam Reynolds it left a bitter taste in all our mouths.

nobody cares, it’s your business, keep it to yourself, nobody needs a rundown of your financial obligations, you could save money by drowning the cat, it’s only a worthless blight on the Australian landscape

Some do care maybe you don’t that’s ok I don’t recognise your name anyway.

But the likes of Callmack and Southy I’ve spoken too many for many years and we are close.
