Sweet as man, I guess we'll never truely replace Reyno.

I'd love Lauchie to make a good fist of it though like you say!!

Cheers for that, Duncan seems very highly rated.

I wouldn't be too worried about him handling the physicality, he's fairly big for a young Halfback who is yet to fully fill out his body. It was even said on the Rabbitohs Insider today he's played a bit of second row in the past at lower levels due to his size. Obviously that doesn't compare to NRL but it's a good sign.
Duncan was a poach from our Vaucluse friends

his dad named him after the raging bull

he reminds me of bully, tough as nails and could run through a brick wall

Great song Joe! didn't know you were a Ramones man. Have you ever seen them live?
I think 1980 was the first time at the Capital Theatre and a big day out another time- All the Originals have now passed on - Joey,Johnny,Dee-Dee and Tommy Ramone. - Marky , Richie and CJ Ramone still kicking as they say - Not sure about Elvis Ramone who filled in for a few gigs when Richie left before Marky returned

You certainly got your money's worth at a Ramones Gig - could play 30 songs in just over an hour - As Joey would say hit it Dee-Dee -1-2-3-4

Saw The Clash as well on their Magnificent Seven Tour - $7 at the Capital Theatre- 1979

The Damned in the 80's i forget when now and Sex Pistols on their Filthy Lucre tour in 1996.

Dead Kennedy's/Black Flag/ Bad Brains and many others

Thanks for the info on Ilias @BradS. So would you say he's kind of similar to Reyno? In style that is, with maybe more of a running game?

Very excited to see him play this weekend! We just have to remember that this is his debut and he's playing with a lot of other young guys, less superstars around him so don't be too harsh on him if he doesn't star. Hopefully he'll kill it though along with the other young lads.

Yea I agree in regards to Napa. Would rather back our youth in the guys you have mentioned or try to get someone like Tom Amone back. Always rated him.

Is Tallis Duncan a front or second rower?

I didn't see them in 1980, but saw them at every subsequent tour. You're damn right about getting your moneys worth, A full on aural assault. I'm insanely jealous that you got to see the Clash. I didn't but at least I have seen both Joe and Mick live (Joe with his band The Mescalaros and Mick with BAD). I must say Joe I knew there was a reason I liked you. You've got excellent taste in music.

I think Joe regretted sacking Mick which hastened the end of the The Clash - maybe not Topper as he was hooked on heroin and alcohol but Topper was the glue that held it all together - A Band is only as good as it's drummer was Joe's View.

When Terry Chimes or Tory Crimes as Joe Called him left they auditioned over 220 drummers until they came across Topper who Sandy Pearlman producer of Give 'Em Enough Rope described as a drum machine - could play anything and any style top level.

A number of times Joe was wanting to do something again as The Clash but it never happened - Mick as you said had a new band BAD and Paul was painting and exhibiting his paintings and Topper was still having addiction issues.

Even before Joe died he asked Mick to come over as he was writing some stuff with a possibility of recording it as The Clash - Sadly not long later he had the heart attack and passed away.

Was that the clash magnificent 7 tour you mentioned. I got in under age.

And if you missed the pistols at the filthy lucre harden gig, you’re struggling.

The days when music had meaning.

No sweat Phantom. The wheels are in motion regarding that troublemaker.Stay tuned mate!
All good.

I think it’s probably our old Panther mate paws with his 11th burner account or old buddy “suxbig…”

The government should wave their contact restrictions so they can infect each other with something and be dickwads together . Special exemption, registered lu forum inbreds. Show their passes to police and waved on.

Driving close to co vid curfew cut off time last night, the whole of Sydney was driving twice bloody the speed limit. It’s unsafe after 830 due to dangerous driving.

140kph on the M4 was slow driving in places.

Now back to regular bunnies programming.

The resting of players is an excellent idea. It will really help. Could Nicholls win the Clive Churchill?!

Yes 1979 i recall - Capital Theatre

If the Pistols had a different manager other than Malcolm McLaren and he didn't sack Glen Matlock especially replacing him with Sid Vicious who may have looked the part but couldn't play the bass then there may well have been more Albums.

Bernie Rhodes early manager of The Clash had a idea which he released as a press release for The Clash to rob a bank with the idea if they got away with it think of all the money they would have and if they got caught think of all the publicity. The Clash then released their own press release that Bernie Rhodes is no longer the manager of The Clash

Rhodes later returned to manage The Clash when Joe said he would quit if Rhodes doesn't come back as the manager

I think Joe was hoping Topper would get his act together but he didn't for more than 20 odd years.

I was watching a doco the other day Viva Joe Strummer- The Clash and Beyond where Topper was talking about the last time he saw Joe back stage when he was playing with the Mescaleros - He had a can of beer in his hand which was the first thing Joe saw - your still drinking I see.

Topper was pretty emotional about it as he was thinking Joe's last thoughts of him may have been that he had still not kicked his addictions and if he would have when still in The Clash they could have continued on - for how long who knows as they had become pretty big in the US with Combat Rock at number 5 in the album charts.

It was already a fractured period though when Joe Fired Topper as Mick and Paul didn't speak as a result of several back stage altercations.

When Mick turned up late too many times and sometimes not at all Joe gave him the ultimatum to come back as i think he was on his honeymoon at the time - he eventually showed up but Joe had made up his mind and told Mick your fired - Mick asked Paul if you agree with this -Paul said yes i do so that was that
