Just watched the awards, congrats to cody for his great year a deserved winner of the george piggins award and the jack rayner players player award as well, you deserve it.
Congrats to taaffe for rookie of the year.
Wayne bennet said the love word again and complimented our great club.
Just dont pinch our players please.
A fond send off for departing players, dargan and brock were in the group, so they wont be with us next year.
Please souths make some player anouncements.

I thought we weren’t giving out long term deals to over 30’s now Solly is saying Cody can have as long and as much as he wants, it’s not a good look to the way Reyno was treated. Solly has told lies. The fact we put Knight and Arrow on good long term deals before seeing to Reyno astounded me and Dad.

Solly said to Dad and I on the phone at most Cody would get 2 years with second year in clubs favour now it looks like Cody will get 3-4 year deal.

All we want is honesty not being lied too about it. Lots of my family and friends who are members feel the same too.

Don’t play the we got burnt by GI and Sam long term deals then straight away back flip on it. If the plan was to always give Cody a 3 year deal just tell the truth then in the first place.

When they made the anouncement on departing players both were confirmed as leaving
This from zero tackle, Gardner off-contract but not confirmed as leaving.

The 30-year-old starred in the Rabbitohs’ 26-16 Round 3 win over the Roosters and is in good form, but the club is adamant they will only offer players in their 30s one-year deals after being burnt by contracts in the past, most notably with Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis.

Reynolds has scored 34 tries in 208 games for the club since his debut in 2012 winning a premiership in 2014.

There is what I was looking for re Souths only offering one year deals to over 30’s. This is exactly what Solly said to us on conference call on the phone as well.

I felt that this was going to be the likely outcome, but until it's signed, sealed and delivered we need to wait.

I am hoping Cody gets 3 years, but still would not be surprised if they backtracked and offered him 1 or 2 years.

With Adam, right or wrong, I felt they were concerned about his back, hamstrings etc and this dictated their thought process.

Mate its sad about AR, solly had to say something to pacify us, but in reality if we lose cody we are f**ked, goat offered 2 years not on huge money,

You wait for all the backlash if we sign Cody to 3 years. I actually hope the media give it to Solly and Souths.

Mate if it was me I would offer Cody a 2 year extension so have him signed til end of 2024.

Cody Walker debuted a lot older then Reyno and has had fewer big injuries than Reyno.
GI and Sam toward the end of their Careers were all injury prone and thus ‘not re-signing players over 30’ begun.

I believe walker is in a different basket. On the surface yes he is over 30 so don’t offer him anything more than a 1-year contract.. but! His body is alot less battered compared to AReynos. He has also had Back issues in the past. Cody is X factor, Reynolds is organiser. That may play a factor in re signing Cody on a long term deal. He is also good mates with Latrell and both are freaks who we would rather have at our club than not so..

Correct.

This, plus the fact that Cody has really only played 5 years of top line footy and is relatively injury-free, compared with Adam, who has had fractured vertebrae, fractured jaw, fractured hand, shoulder, knee, hamstring and groin injuries.

Adam deserves much respect for his heroic efforts to play through all that and still deliver what he's given the team, and fans - it's remarkable and legendary
