If we don't sign anyone of note it's not because there is nothing left in the kitty, it's because the players we are talking to are under contract and haven't been granted a release.

I disagree we won’t go well into next year with all this cap spare.

Hard to pick but mine is probs the Cook on the run then the kick to Cody in the prelim against Manly.

Gday all, just a little update on how John Morris is going. I had a beer and a bet with a bloke yesterday (Sharks man) who is good mates with John.
Anyway, John is loving his time at Souths already and is blown away by how professional the club is managed. John mentioned to him that he reckons he has never been involved in a club so professionally run. Good to hear considering John has been around the game for so long.
Apparently John has been involved in new sponsorship and recruiting meetings and he reckons he has never seen a club so strong in this area and in protecting the brand. For example, Souths will not back down on their number presented to sponsors. If it’s X$ that’s what you’re paying. That’s it. Apparently Blake Solly is a great negotiator.
All sounded genuine.

Parramatta are considering handing Curtis Scott a lifeline next season.
The Eels, South Sydney and North Queensland have discussed signing Scott but it is Parramatta who has emerged a shock contender in recent days.

They are adding the development players, there are a few websites with conflicting reports

I did mention we had made an offer to him which some thought i was pulling it out of my arse,here is confirmation. I would offer him more but clause the contract so he must play 1st grade to get the full amount,id take the chance

Like i said its a chance id take,we need centres, id just put a clause in about booz and playing 1st grade,because he hasnt played much last 2 seasons, we apparently offered him 150k id up it to 250 maybe with bonuses for 1st grade

I read elsewhere that we offered him $250k and he knocked it back to test the market.
