Told you we didn’t have much money left another cheap signing.
Yeah you're right, we don't, and its not surprising, look at our roster, we have a number SOO and Test players.

But that's ok, looks like the FO saw this coming and now we can all find what the youngsters can bring to the team.

You could be right my figures are dubious, maybe we need to up it 100k but as i said id be restricting booz and puting in 1st grade bonuses
We can't afford it.

Anyway, the guy has serious anger management problems, it's not just booze related. Bad for team culture and bad for corporate image.

‘A moment I wish I could have back’ - Reynolds still kicking himself over Grand Final miss: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/nrl/a-...lf-over-grand-final-miss-20211105-p596g8.html

From Zero Tackle,

Surprise new options on table for former Raider

Curtis Scott could be set to receive an NRL lifeline, with multiple clubs reportedly interested in signing the former Melbourne Storm and Canberra Raiders' centre.

Scott, who has played 72 games in the NRL, would still need the competition's permission to sign a new deal given his current off-field situation.

With that unresolved, any reported interest from clubs must be taken with a grain of salt, given the Raiders first stood him down in May, and then sacked him in August. The NRL also fined Scott $15,000 for "bringing the game into disrepute" at the time.

Scott has previously spoken of the path he is taking to get his life back on track, and now it seems an unexpected shot at the NRL could be on the horizon.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that all of the Parramatta Eels, South Sydney Rabbitohs, North Queensland Cowboys and Wests Tigers are showing interest.

The Tigers were rumoured to be interested earlier in the year when he was on shaky ground with the Raiders, however, that never materialised.

Still, the Tigers have an enormous war chest of money to use and there aren't a great deal of players off-contract, so a move for Scott could be intriguing.

The Rabbitohs and Eels are both clubs at the right end of the table. South Sydney have built a strong culture and could be a good fit for Scott, and with Dane Gagai's departure, a classy centre is a player they could use.

The Eels too are short in the outside backs. Although Waqa Blake and Will Penisini have the inside running on the centre spots, the fact Blake Ferguson has left means only Haze Dunster shapes as an option on the wing, and Scott could potentially transform himself.

The Cowboys bring a need for players, as well as a move away from the attention and spotlight of Sydney which could benefit Scott in the long run.

Honestly, I'm keen on Scott.

I feel that in a professional club with a strong culture like Souths, he could get back to the player he once was and then some like he was at the Storm. On his day, he's a quality centre and if he gets it right, I genuinely believe he can be one of the best in the NRL.

I get the issue people have with his off-field stuff, I get that, and I am in no way making excuses for him. However, he is at the stage where surely we wants to get his life back on track and a club like Souths would help him do that.

It could be a masterstroke if we did it and it all went well.

There are lot of people worried that we are short on centres. At the risk of being very unpopular I suggest we have the best centre in the game playing fullback. He is the State of Origin centre and dominant in that position As a fullback Latrell makes the occassional devastating kick return but 8 out of 10 times he offloads to a winger and gets them to take it back. He doesn’t play the modern high energy fullback game of trailing the ruck. While he is very powerful his fitness isn’t equal to the best fullbacks. I think each season he will be more and more suited to the requirements of centre more than fullback. So I would seriously play him at centre and solve that problem. Outside Cody would be a dangerous combination. It also gives him a chance to use his strong defence more often. Let Taafe continue to develop at fullback.
Instead of saying we need a new centre we could be saying we have the best centre pairing in the competition.

It’s not going to happen. JD has already confirmed Trell be fullback when he returns and also Cody role will remain the same as a 6
