That’d take a spot in our top 30 and with the recent extension of the top 30 deadline to August, I wouldn’t want us wasting a spot on Lafai unnecessarily. We upgraded the Penis(ini) for a reason.

Our middle was shot in the back end of the 1st half, but Sivo made some horrible reads. To be fair though, it’s the first NRL game he has played with Opacic so perhaps they were finding their feet.

Waqa on the other hand was a complete liability last year and showed no improvement in defence. Our right edge in defence was solid tonight except for Blake giving JAC too much room on that one play.

Addo-Carr and Olam carved us up a couple of times. I reckon Blake would've gone at least as well in defence. Niukore was a monster in attack though.

What I found interesting was when NAS targeted a couple of our spine players on the line this happened: Gutherson and Mahoney combine to stop big Nelson - NRL

Then in the second half Paulo did the same to the Storm's little men and they didn't want a bar of it: Marvel at Paulo power - NRL

they already had the opportunity to do that and didn’t, they upgraded will instead. Plus he hasn’t done a pre season ever

Apart from Will, I reckon Rankin or Dunster is more of chance being given a go then lafai.

However if we lose another centre, we could apply for permission to bring in a player outside the 30.

The f**k merkin? He's not even 23 yet and you thought he was at his peak?

Not at his peak, but with limitations. The past two weeks he’s proved he can ‘play’. Not just be a ‘service’ dummy half. And when he plays he’ll be taking pressure off the rest of the team, especially Moses. We’ve lacked any attacking flair from Mahoney, since coming into grade. I’ve absolutely loved what I’ve seen of him, these past two games.
