What a major disappointment....first half was so slow with so many stoppages and then in the second half....well didn't see much of it due to the coverage constantly cutting out...amateurish.

This world cup is going to have massive scores....triple figures easily...but this game was built as one that was going to be competitive...good old Matt parish....only he could take a world class side and turn them into that rabble...

From an Englishman who watched most of the game at work and missed spells:

Jack Welsby at 6 could be one of the breakout stars of the tournament, he may be a bellend who plays for St Helens, but for the next month he's our bellend.
Ackers should take the hooking role from McIlorum for the next couple games IMO, just gives that bit more zip in attack
We actually have backs who can score a try, what is this sorcery?

That $2.35 on England always looked way overs. Turns out they should have been $1.10.

Anyone who thought this WC was more than a 3 horse race (again) was kidding themselves. The location is the only reason there is even 3 runners.

Samoa don’t have a a 7 or a decent 9, that will hurt them against the top 3 teams, Milford is washed up and Liu I don’t rate as a game manager , JS in the number 1 is still young and needs work on ball playing, but he’s a world class runner.
I just see them falling down on managing games, might be the difference between the top 3 teams.
Good call.

Welsby is a good ball player.
He needs serious work on his kicking game though.
Be interesting to see how he matures this tournament.

Extremely disappointing from Samoa.

Wtf.
Believed their own hype.
Objective fans didn’t give them a real chance, however to get flogged like that is shameful.
Hopefully they knuckle down and stop caring how they look on telly. Winning games of football is their job.

We can talk about how Samoa we’re overrated and weren’t a real chance but let’s be real most of us just expected them to put on a strong contest at the least. That shoreline is straight up embarrassing and no one on here can convince me that is representative of the talent in that side.

big hit!

I would've thought we'd all worked out by now, Origin series after Origin series, not to get worked up about rep teams based on names on paper.

Perhaps the GF celebrations have had an effect? Maybe Mal's onto something resting all the Penrith and Parra players for another week? Or maybe the Samoans just don't have your Whitehead's, Radley's, Bateman's, etc who are disciplined re the one-percenters.

This Year?

Samoa absolutely embarrassed themselves today. To'o was invisible, Milford outdone himself by quite a margin, but the softest one was when Tapau comes on and misses his 1st tackle which lead to an England try.
England worked over Samoa's middles perfectly and that pass from Welsby for Young's 1st try was beautiful.
Samoa have alot of work to do to restore some pride in the jersey and it must not include Levi or Milford.
