Jahrome Hughes absolutely murdering Rapana’s great work to get the Kiwis down the field was the key moment.

What a dumb, dumb decision to put that kick in on tackle 1.

That and Brandon Smith’s pot plant impression.
A rare brain explosion from Hughes, the kangaroos were on the ropes.

In saying that, NZ were only 1cm away from scoring , if Ronaldo was still out on the wing it's a try.

Disastrous result for rugby league.
I have not watched one single minute of this World Cup. I actually forgot this game was even on because international rugby league has been a joke for 40 years. Australia just wins everything. It is unhealthy and Australia NOT being in the final would have been by far the best result for rugby league.

Everyone knows Australia will easily beat England in the final and international rugby league will continue to be joke.
You obviously haven't watched any of the tournament? England have been the form team, the kangaroos winning is not the dead cert It would have been in the past.

Is there any person on Earth that seriously gives a f**k about "Gallen v Hodges"??? Gallen's last fight had him AND Hannant.....how is an easier "challenge" of just fighting Hodges going to attract anybody? Hopefully Gallen truly f**ks off this time.....I do get the feeling he'd take an SBW fight though.

The great thing about international footy is we'll have to wait ... what ?..maybe 3 years until they play again??? Lol

I can't see why we can't have Aus V NZ on Anzac day ? We think that Roosters V Dragons is better ?

Cracking game though it’s disappointing NZ couldn’t pull it off. Agree with the above that it’s sad knowing we probably won’t get to watch them play again for years.

Here’s hoping the international schedule looks a bit better in the coming years.

Australian class and experience from grinding out wins in SOO make it nearly impossible to grind it out against Australia.

NZ need to figure out a path ahead on how they battle harden their team before 2025.
Regular test footy - that's the only way.

We had an opportunity to put Origin on weekends and put a mid-season 3-weekend test schedule there, but I guess broadcasters & clubs have too much sway for something like that to happen.

A shame, because 3 match series vs Tongs would be ace, as would a mid-season Pacific 4-nations - say NZ, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji with a 3-match PNG/Cook Islands series running too.. promotion/relegation between the 4-nations & the 3-match "qualifier series".

Great final of the RLWC.

Next week's practice run will be of passing interest at best.

Nah, he’s a weak gutted dog person.
Bloke is definitely an animal. All heart and throws his small frame around. Hardly weak gutted though. Went hunting against a much bigger pack and put on some hits. His hits and their impact on the game are why he got MOTM. Not his runs. Though Yeo did put in an effort you could argue was worthy of MOTM too.

The game was odd in the sense that there was no one close to a 10/10... and no one was really worse than say a 6/10. Bagging anyone out in this game for not doing stuff when the best and worst on ground weren't too far off each other is just ridiculous.

Great game

Rugby League is trending No1 on Twitter in the UK with many celebs tweeting that it’s their first game and they’re blown away and speechless by the sheer athleticism, toughness, relentlessness, honesty, skill levels and commitment of the game.

Weve even got a number of Rugby Union ex players and journalists tweeting that it eclipses anything and everything they’ve ever seen on a Rugby Union field.

Whatever you think of the World Cup Tournament, it’s caught a lot of peoples imaginations with the Womens World Cup and the Wheelchair World Cup also Trending No1 on their match days.

Viewing figures for the Women and wheelchair matches have been between 1.2 & 1.5 million while the Mens competition has been hitting 2.5 to 3 million

its been a success already with an England semi final and the final still to come
