If Tyrone May is anywhere near one of our starting centre positions we are in serious trouble.

Tyrone is a utility, can play a role, is a natural footy player, but starting centre he is not.

Still a better option than Whare in 2021. Ive never seen a player decline like Dean.

Ive been looking into young Thomas Jenkins since I found out a friend of my family knows his family from what ever town they are from. He has apparently been spending a lot of time with the NRL squad, in our last canterbury cup team announcement in 2020 he was named in the centres so he might not be far off first grade if he can get a development contract.

To add with what @herbert henry1908 said about Staines on the right, To'o on the left it would help Nathan a lot. He kind of lacks options when he plays that way. You can bring his passing/kicking into it much more creatively. of course Staines outside Crichton and Kikua would be insane as well in a good way with the extra space.

Crichton provides a very good attacking kick chase option on the left, Staines should be equally as dangerous on the right. Toó was no slouch chasing kicks, but Staines offers more in that regard I think.

I can’t argue with Staines on the right, it’s an improvement to our attack either way. To’o is a good defender so he might improve the left side in that regard also.

In regards to Staines chasing kicks, clearys long kicks for JAC in origin should work for Staines, if the kick is good Staines is fast enough to put pressure on similar to jac.

So it looks Izack Tago and Turuva are still training with the FG squad. These two were playing sg ball last year so they are obviously rated, we know about Turuva. Tago is a prop who scored a hat trick in the same game as Turuva last year that’s all I know about him. There is also Taylan May and Jenkins from the 20s squad still training with fg. There may be others but I think we will see these four as the next young guys that are moved into the squad over the next 12-18 months.

Paul Momirovski doesn’t really excite me particularly if we have to take his two year deal that he currently has with the Tigers.

Don’t know anything about young Jenkins who hails from Boorowa but maybe we would be better off just giving him or Turava a spot in the top 30.

What are the so called experts saying about our draw?

I just had a look, for the first time really, and I would have thought it was a rather tough draw.

Hadn’t really taken much notice, and thought I had read some suggesting our draw was soft but it didn’t appear that way to me. Two games against the games heavyweights other than the Raiders. Maybe I need to have a closer look.

Well we have every game against teams that finished lower than us.

Nothing too bad in the draw. Kinda why we are competition favourites

We were minor premiers so that is a given.

Storm, Roosters, Bunnies Eels so other than the Raiders who finished 5th we play the other sides twice. That seems kinda tough. Broncos twice they will surely be a different proposition this season. I’m not seeing the soft draw some have suggested.

I’m not sure I place to much credence on the betting markets. If I was a punter but non Panthers fan the Eels are much better value at $16 than our $5.

Twice all weren't in the 8. I have Sharks missing the 8. We don't play in Canberra, Newcastle or Townsville.

Play Souths in Dubbo so cancels out their home ground advantage

Throw in I think the teams from 5 down has closed the gap to beat the top sides and you have a decent draw. I think it sits in the middle

I don’t disagree. I havent really drilled down into it.

We are going to have to be better than last season. Just the way the games evolves.

Every side has improved there roster, or believes they have. Everyone talking there season up.

It’s going to be tougher than some think.

Every off season every team talks up their hopes. Most wrongly. For us natural development will see guys like Luai improve. Given we finished 1st and have a young side that in theory should improve... Same could be said we will be better
