2021 season

The rest of his origins were not poor that is ridiculous. Try assists are not the be all end all of whether a halfback played well.

I changed the post to say average/poor when you were quoting it. Poor was a little harsh. But I stand by my overall view that he’s only ever had 1-2 very good games out of those 9. He’s a half after all, and his main job is to create scoring opportunities. He’s failed to do that in most of those big games.

His first two origin series were solid. He was not a standout but he didn’t do anything wrong, tackled and kicked well. I don’t think he was being asked to do much more than that until this origin series.

He had the gf and origin one this year as bad performances in big games outside of those two games he has been solid or better in the big games he has played imo, whicj includes a couple of motm performances last season in big games.

So? What they did is irrelevant to the discussion of Nathan being a captain. Whataboutism isn't an argument.
Clearly, my point is lost on you. All I am saying is why mention it in the first place. He is not a serial offender. Clear enough for you?

@herbert henry1908 you mentioned that you look at things in total but you’ve narrowed Nathan’s career down 9 games that prove he’s not ready to be captain, that is not looking at things in total. There are many examples of his leadership qualities throughout his career. One that stands out to me is the cowboys game last season we were playing poorly and Nathan forced errors on Hess and taumololo with his defence and the game turned. To me that is the perfect example captain material.

Yes your point is clearly lost on me because I see no point in bringing other players indiscretions into it. We aren't talking about them.

People know my thoughts on Cleary but he has done almost everything in the game. So captaining is probably the next logical step but not quite ready yet.

Yeo came off his best year. Is a forward with a history of HIA... So probably doesn't need to burden of being captain

So sharing the duties makes sense how it works on field is the question

If he’d gotten the captaincy in another 2-3 years after improving his big stage performances and keeping his nose clean off the field then I wouldn’t have thought nepotism would be involved, but given the circumstances I find it hard to believe it didn’t play a role. It was only 8 months ago Nathan lied to the NRL over a Covid breach.

Yeo has never been in any off field trouble, he’s more experienced, he’s more mature, he deserved the stand alone captaincy.

What if Yeo is too quiet on field though? No reason one can't be on field the other does off field stuff

On field warm up shirt:

Respect the past, create the future. The Panthers 2021 Men's Warm Up Tee featuring the iconic brown and white stripes of 1969, paying respect to the original chocolate soldiers.

Whoever is looking after merchandise / design at the moment at Penrith is just hitting it out of the park. First the heritage jersey and now this.

This is sensational, i bought the heritage version of this at a game in 2016 at campbeltown at a tigers vs riff game at the merch store, but this is truely inspiring for fans who've followed panthers since inception, i love at the kit this year, the home looks like the 2003 home, but with the RYG stripes instead of Teal, White, Rust.
The away is the favoured pink, and alternate/heritage the famous Licorce allsorts of 1991, now this for a training tee, just homage to all our famous stand out jerseys
