Dogs still using Sonny Bill Williams money from 2008....lol. That is all we kept hearing back then. He must have taken up the whole cap.

Your right though, Cotric, JAC, Corey Allen and now Naden. Throw in Meanny, Hoppa and Zalezniak and you have a whole backline bought and bred. Now they will move onto buying a whole pack of forwards.

Sounds to me that Barrett probably got himself a night job as a cleaner , working at Rugby League headquarters - the Roosters league’s club and has come across paperwork about the salary cap lying on uncle Nick’s desk .

The mans no fool , he quit the same night !

I was thinking more along the lines of Barrett is using Penriths cap manual on Penrith.
How the Panthers can renew so many of their contracts and only let a few depth players like Tamou and Mansour leave is beyond me.
Add to that they lose Burton and Naden and are unhappy about it suggesting that they wanted to renew / upgrade them from next year onwards.

The mind boggles at just how they managed it SGMax .

I was just reading how Parramatta are about to resign Mitchell Moses on a 3 year deal at $900k per season , nothing wrong in that , but the Broncos were prepared to offer him $1million per season which he has rejected .

So there is definitely a lot of spare cash floating around at the moment if you are in the market for a decent player .

I think you’ll find Penrith ‘forward paid’ from their cap a couple of years ago. Same as what the Knights did in 2017. Essentially front-loading contracts.
You will see Dragons do that this year with a couple of juniors they’re promoting to top 30.

You'd have to think there was some serious issues with Billy Brittain for him not to play again today in KOE Cup.

Connor Muhleisen promoted to starting hooker (from JF) with Wishart starting at 5/8.

Can anyone remember when the full squad ie all contracted players are eligible to be selected for 1st grade? I thought round 13 onwards but I may be way off the mark here.

Mind boggles why they’d pay it Gareth; not in that league for mine. Oh well good luck to him.

Agree Inisai , somewhat over inflated , but after today’s efforts from our halves , I would gladly borrow the extra $ 100k from ‘ Shady Sam Loans Company ‘ to get him down to the ‘ gong quick smart !

2 spots remain, injuries aplenty, no 'superstars' from other clubs falling over themselves to sign.
We have only 1 hooker
We have an ageing pack with 4 forwards over 30
A backline full of injuries

What do we do?
I like what I see from Wishart at 9 but he’s not fg ready. Do we sign another plodder or mark this down as a rebuilding year and promote him? Do we try to sign Liddle who is on the outer for some unknown reason? It’s very intriguing. Does JDB come back? Can we beat the bulldogs to hold out until Rava is back or do we need another outside back?

I say we need to let go all players who's contract are up at seasons end and then sign top grade players for our 2022 squad:
1. Ponga
2. Ramsey
3. Max Feagai
4. Lomax
5. Ravalawa
6. Sullivan
7. Hunt
8. New prop
9. B Smith
10. Vaughan
11. Burns
12. Bird
13. De Belin

14. Molo
15. Lawrie
16. Ford
17. McCullough

It's amazing what just 3 new top grade players added to our roster can do to the look of our 17. In my opinion makes us look a much better side and what is also important is, that it is affordable.

Gone will be Dufty, Pereira, Norman, Alvara, Sims, Fui, Ellis.

There is a lot of chat about him moving to Brisbane and other clubs. Contracts aren't worth much when a player wants to move on so, Let's be in with a chance by offering some good coin. He is young and talented not like some we have signed.
