That's what I'm thinking, listening to his podcasts he doesn't sound confident in staying at the dragons. I feel Bird will take his spot.
I think with his business interests and social life the hunger just isn’t there. He would be better off signing a deal for a Sydney club for as much as he can get as a backup half. I can’t think of a club that needs him as a starting 6 next year unless Burton backflips on the dogs or if one of the teams has a bad injury run and tries to go for a mid season signing.

As we stand atm we are not in a good space regarding our playing roster.

Of our 13 contracted backs, 4 were unavailable (Hunt, WIlliame, Sullivan & Matt F) which leaves 9 fit players, of which 8 played today (Dufty, Ramsey, Norman, Bird, Periera, Clune, Ravalawa, Lomax) only Max F missed out and he played KOE Cup. By the looks of things, both Rava and JP will be out for a few games. We have 3 backs in the DS (Amone, Sloan and SSE). It was noted that Schiller played KOE Cup today.

Of our 15 contracted (and non-contracted) forwards, 4 were unavailable (Brittain, McInnes, JDB* & Faamasili) which leaves 11 fit players, of which 9 played today (Lawrie, Vaughan, McCollough, Maguire, Burns, Kerr, Fuimaono, Alvaro, Simms) 1 was 18th man (Ellis), so only Ford missed out and he played KOE Cup. Only 1 forward in the DS (H. Lomax).

So, out of 28 contracted players (Inc JDB) we had only 20 available.

We are only a few injuries away from being very thin player wise.

Good analysis of a very pertinent problem- thanks DS

In his first few months in charge of Penrith in 2016, Anthony Griffin told those in power at the club that Matt Moylan was the next Darren Lockyer.

A superstar in the making. So just 50 games into his NRL career, and without a single representative jersey to his name, Moylan was made captain.

Moylan

Ramsay
Lomax
Bird
Rava

Milford

Hunt

Capewell
Sims
McGuire
Molo
McCulloch
Vaughan

Lawrie
Fuimaono
Burns
Kerr

**JDB who knows

Don't laugh may end up like this in 2022...

Staggs in to play 5/8 after Norman departs. That would be the PERFECT pick up for us.

We'd be big and fast in the backline...rava, bird, staggs, Lomax, feagai....

Make it happen Griffin!!

Well the man will certainly be worth the investment , he is a class act , shame it had to be the narks though .
Disagree.. class act of a bloke and kicker
But there is a good reason Souths didn’t want to extend him past one year at a time
his age, defence and the lack of of a running game
He won’t be the same in a Cronulla side as he is with a classy backline and spine he has got at South Sydney

Moylans days of playing fullback are gone. His hammies are shot & all the running would kill him.

You could well be right , the Rabbits defense has been very good over the last few seasons and Reynolds has had players close to him who will cover his defensive lapses .

Of late Cronulla has been a bit of an ‘ Elephants graveyard ‘ where once quite decent players go to die .

Still , the best of luck to the man wherever he may go .

Yep I like him and based on the following is worth good $$$$ to any strugglers
His kicking game, goal and field goal kicking when under pressure is sublime and the best in the game just in front of Cleary

I thought the Roosters had the salary sombrero but the Bulldogs seem to have a bottomless pit of funds. They are rumoured to be in the hunt for Toby Rudolph as well.
Dogs still using Sonny Bill Williams money from 2008....lol. That is all we kept hearing back then. He must have taken up the whole cap.

Your right though, Cotric, JAC, Corey Allen and now Naden. Throw in Meanny, Hoppa and Zalezniak and you have a whole backline bought and bred. Now they will move onto buying a whole pack of forwards.
