9544 for Accor Stadium is terrible. Who in the NRL thinks it's a good look to see 60-65k blue seats vacant at these club games? The finances can't be worth it, can they?
i think some NRL clubs would play on a hollowed out rubbish tip if they got money for it

And how the hell can an 84k stadium make a profit opening up for a crowd that is 11% of capacity?

It doesn't, but the Stadium has itself at a point where it loses more money if no games are played.

Games like Saturday's help provides some cash flow whilst also ensuring the Stadium meets its commitments with sponsors, vendors and stadium members.

Fingers crossed QCB is packed to the rafters next Saturday. The boys deserve a 20k+ plus crowd
they'll lap the knights , not sure about 20K plus but they'll get their biggest crowd of the season for sure
they have the Tigers in magic round & I think that'll be close but they'll win that too

then round 11, the Storm at home 5.30 on a Sat arvo ....

what does QCB stadium hold ?
It'll sell out for sure

I don't know the dogs deal with the stadium but Souths get paid to play there so it doesn't matter too much to them financially how many people turn up to watch

You have to assume the Storm agreed to have this game as part of Magic Round.
Why would you assume that they would be happy to give up home advantage for the games that could decide top spot, and forgo their biggest crowd of the season?

Money talks
20K @ AAMI is worth around $400K - $500k. How much do you reckon the NRL is paying each club that shifts a home game? Anyway, Matt Trip used to run Sportsbet, then sold BetEasy, and half a mill is a drop on the ocean for him.

I know Panthers have said no to being a home team. So clubs have a choice but when you are paid to move games. The party paying chooses the opposition

2019 Melbourne vs Roosters at AAMI, the top 2 teams of the time, got 17k in good weather. Nothing at all to suggest this would get more. Both that game and this up against fumbleball.

Yes, but the NRL are wasting this game in Magic Round, when any game would draw 50k in that Magic Round slot.
