Seems it is too early for crowd watch 22 lol Speculation on crowd size here then;

rd1
Panthers v Manly 18k
Warriors v Dragons 4k
Broncos v Souths 35k
Roosters v Knights 14k
Raiders v Sharks 12k
Wests v Storm 16k
Eels v GC 17k
Cows v Dogs 15k
If crowd caps are gone Penrith will sell out easily.

We’ve been duped

no doubt one of the media cronies didn’t get what they wanted so it’s back to the negotiating table
I guess the writing was on the wall when the rags weren't trumpeting draw headlines this morning.

What’s hilarious is that ch9 leaked the rd1 draw 2 days ago and there’s still nothing about it on nrl.com. Amateur hour.

while its the graveyard shift for us , lets hope ch 9 's rnd 1 version is the correct one with the raiders playing the sharks at 6pm friday & not the warriors playing the dragons at 5pm local time in QLD

we will still get over 12K if the weather is fine
they'd of got 3K at 5pm on friday ... they might get 7 or 8K at 4.30 on saturday with the area still hyped up getting a side for 2023

tbh , they could improve rnd one further by putting the warriors game on the sunday night .. 5.25pm local time , the tigers game to 5.30 sat & the cowboys game to 7.30 sat (6.30 local time)

f**k, I forgot Queensland doesn't do daylight savings. Is it still a thing to schedule only night games in Qld for the first month or so? Could see some very late kickoffs for Warriors "home" games in NZ time...

I've always thought that round 1 should have a game in every city they we have a team. 8 venues.. Townsville, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Canberra, Auckland, Melbourne. Times and opponents can be figured but gives all fans a chance to be a part of the season opener.
I’ve never thought about it that way, but what a great idea.

I knew if I hung around in this site long enough I would eventually hear one!!

It's a sore point for our household over summer.. we're in NZ & my wife's family are in Brisbane (emigrated 20-ish years ago).

Going from 2 to 3 hours time difference is a real nuisance.

SMH leaked it actually, Tele and 9 followed.

And I mean, the NRL has never really dabbled in the "Round 1 leak" thing, every year they leave it to the media to do that stuff. Sometimes to build interest the clubs might then drop a fixture or two, I guess we'll see. Looking like Tuesday at the moment.
