Yeah I heard Billy Slater interviewed on the weekend and he was very positive about the progress junior League was making in Victoria, I`d always had junior League in Vic down as a struggle, but Billy`s not a bullshitter, so I thought it must be good news. We're seeing some good growth in jnrs over here in the West as well. Always a struggle in enemy territory and with little funding but there is about 5 new clubs have popped up in last few years which is good signs. Just hope Twiggy doesnt snaffle them all with the squillions hes spending on Jnr RU!

The growth is interesting, I'm guessing some of it is in fans switching from FTA to Kayo now having access to 8 games a week rather than just 3 they could have watched on FTA? Good positive jump on 2019 pre covid figures though.

Storm/Warriors Foxleague 281,000 Kayo 298,000
Is this figure correct @The_Wookie , because it would be the first time that I know that Kayo has surpassed Foxtel STB.
I believe that last weekend the ANZAC day clash between Melbourne and NZ Warriors was broadcast FTA in NZ, not sure if the St. George v. Roosters game may have been as well.
Would be interesting to know how that went on FTA over there. It would give us a rough idea of how much we are missing out on in our numbers by having one team`s majority fan base being based in another country.
I read also that as part of our new NZ broadcast deal some/all games from Magic Round will be on Kiwi FTA as well.
Sign of the times."The Fox League exclusive coverage of Melbourne Storm’s demolition of the Warriors attracted an average audience of 577K across the platforms of Foxtel and Kayo, resulting in the 5th highest NRL regular season match ever for the Foxtel Group."
It rated 279,000 on the FOx STB prelim overnights, and 281,000 on consolidation. The Blackbox report is before consolidation, so leves 298k for streaming.
I was guessing 300k a round total.
This year has been much better on the field than the last 2. People turned off by the recent hash of rule changes seem to be coming back to the game this year thankfully. Crowds are tracking just above our normal avg as well. good news.
Hey Cowboys are third!
It`s a funny old world though, I was talking to Gary Bridge yesterday, ex- Balmain, Roosters five-eighth, never watches the game any more, can`t stand the wrestle.
Tells me that player numbers are very strong in our Group this year, that always makes me happy.
The introduction of the vr stepping in after a try has been called is a real blight on the game. It can 2-3mins now from a try being scored to the kick being taken.I am in that boat
Watch lower grades
But very few NRL. For various reasons
It was going the right way. Now too many stoppages
