Ch 9 are an enormous factor in the drop for origin ratings as they are for the drop in FTA ratings in general.

The figures are the new norm. The decline has been constant since more viewing options entered the market place

47% is just over 4m total watching FTA tv.

That in itself tells you why the game won't get 4m viewers again.

47% of the viewers on FTA watched SOO though.

21 m people were doing or watching other things. That isn't people changing the channel that is that not interested in FTA full stop

Will Be interesting to see game 2 figures and if abandoning mid season tests was worth it.

Personally I’m more looking forward to a stand alone weekend with test matches as well than two compromised nrl rounds and origin sandwiched in the middle mid week.

Stan and Netflix started in 2015.

All FTA has been declining since. Last time SOO hit 4m was in 2014...BEFORE such services came in.
