shows the level of interest in the “battle of the west” lol. I guess two Sydney suburbs playing each other aren’t the national audience grabber we thought.

Game was on sided. That's biggest factor

comp v comp the NRL had a 13 mill lead from the H&A season
they had about 17.5 mill for their finals series , we had 15.2mill or something ... we won the comp v comp by over 10 mill
up from 7 mill in 2021

add reps of around 12mill ( 9.5 ish for origin) & its a 22 mill win by RL over racistball

So wait let’s just talk more about this

afl has TWO extra teams than us right now
Ratings for our New Zealand team aren’t counted

yet 15 nrl clubs managed to outrate 18 afl clubs (with afl having maybe 20? More games than us)

that’s awful

yes because the ratings agencies have it in for the NRL too. Nothing to do with no regional or non sydney sides involved in a blowout match that had little appeal outside Western Sydney.

Afl had Melbourne (well kinda) & Sydney represented. Almost half the nation's population right there

Channel nine thinking their spider cam is still revolutionary

hate it. Tried to watch the game when I got home and their terrible camera angles made me switch off even with the fox commentary

In USA, the NHL gets fraction of pro wrestling ratings, but still demand far bigger broadcasting rights. Advertisers pay more to be associated with one than the other

Yes, it has busted a few myths around here and is probably an advertisement for a national competition if there ever was one.

However, you seem quite chuffed by these ratings

Im non-plussed. it’s been proven that ratings mean nothing when it comes to tv value and revenue raising so really not that relevant.

The funniest thing about this forum is the so called league fans will ignore the fact that afl had its lowest rating grand final ever but then spend pages and pages talking about the nrl doing the exact same thing

This is probably reaching a bit but could daylight savings have effected the numbers in states that don't have it?

Was lovely sunny day in perth so plenty would have been outside not in front of tv in the afternoon. 114k is around par for perth though.
