" Channel 10’s consistently dire television ratings remain a headache for the US-owned broadcaster "

" Ten also recently missed out on the AFL broadcasting rights that were up for grabs.

" While Ten and its streaming partner Paramount+ are believed to have tabled a lucrative 10-year deal, the AFL chose to stick with incumbent broadcasters Foxtel and Seven.

" Ten’s sporting woes don’t end there – the network last year signed a $200m five-year deal with A-League to air matches on Ten and its streaming service 10 Play and also Paramount Plus.

" Despite this, Ten moved A-League from its main channel to one of its lesser-known channels, 10 Bold this season. "

" Nine Entertainment has reportedly stumped up a record sum to extend its broadcast deal with Tennis Australia, with the network set to ink a $500m agreement with the sport’s governing body that will secure the rights to air the Australian Open until 2030. "

Somethings got to give.

I don't think it will, Channel 10 is perfect example of why a FTA network needs a major sport

Womens games are getting great ratings too

the biggest thing from this World Cup is all the free to sue coverage it got in England which will see a boost for rugby league in coming years (which it needed)

If only the women's game could make money, Tennis aside it really struggles no matter the sport or standard

Just set their pay at a level which matches their economic contribution

great way to get govt funding for ground, increase participation and get more women going to nrl games

arlc seems way more financially stable than the awfw

Paramount/10 offer $600mill for 2028-2032, that should be our target. Fox going bust because they lost nrl after what they’ve done to the game over the last 25 years should be no concern of the arlc!

You’d hope there’d be interest in a southern hemi RLWC in 2029 with some serious coin from Australian tv for it given the numbers.

So many viewers came from out of the heartlands

but now it’s back to Leigh in super league, Wakefield building a new stand and England knights playing France

Lets not forget that they had a team from Toronto Canada in Super League, but the clubs then appointed a Goose called Robert Elstone to look at ways to improve the image of Super League and the Goose thought is was a good idea to replace a team from Toronto Canada with Leigh which is a district of Wigan, and despite being in the job 2 years the only other thing he came up with was signing up for the players to receive Pizzas after the games. The Goose didn't even cover the wages he was on let alone his staff wages.
The Goose Elstone blew the biggest chance the game ever had of getting a toe hold in North America, the biggest sports market in the world for a team in the suburb of Wigan
