NRL GF viewership peaked for only half an hour, with more than 1.6 million metro viewers. By half-time, with the Panthers up 28-0, they started falling away, and by 9pm, only 1.3 million or so were watching.

Without a horse (neither bronco nor brumby) in the race, Brisbane lost interest, with viewership peaking at more than 429,000 a few minutes in and dropping below 100,000 with 10 minutes to go.

reach is a myth

cricket is on all day ... yet is behind both football codes for media earnings
the baseball the same in the US both in terms of telecast length & numb of games , but not a patch on NFL rights earnings
10 bill a year for the NFL
2 bill a year for the baseball

next theory please

What theory? I just said Id like to see the reach data.

Im still trying to figure out what the reason is behind your mate PVL doing such a shit tv deal.

Plus they also extended their season by one game with their Sydney magic concept

after the initial bidding was poor who knows what they offered to try and get more money their whole deal is hush hush

one round. Not one game. Its 9. And how do you know what the initial bidding was for it

Even if the AFL had 30% extra engagement time, a number of the games are overlapping or played simultaneously . With the NRL, each game is in a stand alone timeslot.

Thats 30% more on viewing hours from the ratings. Timeslot and overlaps matter, but the 30% additional viewing hours come off the ratings.

Yeh and you didn’t even mention it as a reason for the increased afl deal

looking through the smoke and mirrors the afl deal is looking really really dodgy dude

all we can say about the afl deal with certainty is by 2031 marvel stadium will have the best wifi in the world

Why would I mention it - its not even a lock to go ahead at this point. It wasnt mentioned anywhere else either. its literally at idea stage - the point where they are asking the clubs if they want it or not.

lol looking through smoke and mirrors - you're literally inventing things and have been this entire thread.

Mate they (Nine and Fox) have already gone on record saying that they are not paying any more this deal. Even our glorious leader has said that they won’t - so much for that ace up his sleeve.

The refereeing debacle from the Cowboys vs Eels game makes you wonder if the NRL wanted an all-Sydney final.

They deliberately selected Michael Wise as touch, despite him turning a blind eye to tries scored off forward passes by the Broncos when they played the Cowboys on several occasions over the last few years. Some of them were 2 or 3 metres forward and he was right in line, like the one from James Roberts' pass along the right flank at Lang Park in 2017 to set up a try at the northern end. No one will convince me it's just a coincidence and a matter of incompetence.

Eels scored at least two tries off forward passes against the Cowboys.

If it was a stitch up, and I believe it was, then suck shit NRL and Ch9 on the abysmal GF ratings. If they want everything to be based around Sydney then the game will die, and deservedly so.

something about a kettle & a black pot
You've been filling this thread with bullshit predictions and dumb opinions for years. Now that all of your crap has been exposed you've doubled down on speaking more of it. All you do is insult people who make accurate assessments on the data that's available because you don't want to accept the truth.

its BS

otherwise cricket would be on a bill a year dopey

Reach is the number of unique individual viewers during a broadcast, that number over the course of a day isnt necessarily going to be any bigger than an AFL or NRL game.

Also note that day time television doesnt attract advertisers to the same extent prime time Thurs/Fri/Sat night does.
