spoke to a gay colleague for his take on the whole jersey fiasco. His take was that the club shouldn't have ambushed the players with the pride jersey and he actually felt sorry for the players that are sitting out because they refused to wear it. He thinks it has denied those players their rights in their beliefs even if they are viewed as wrong by the wider community. He also said growing up RL was basically seen as a macho hetero sport so trying to push anything pride into it was always going to ask for trouble.

So what do we need religion round for?
Oh FFS, let's have a Cerebral Palsy Round, a Mongolian Immigrants in Australia Round, whatever round for any minority group who get a far disproportionate amount of attention by the media and the social engineers of this world.

We should have a Corey round. There's so many Corey's in the NRL but none of them have ever been much good so they've never had recognition.

Every team can plaster a huge image of a Corey's head on their jersey.

The Broncos game last week had 5 Corey's involved. How do you choose which one is lucky to on the jersey?

The only rule is that if anyone does a Corey Parker jersey it has to use this pic only

Seems a reasonable fellow.

I definitely get where he is coming from. These guys clearly needed some education because it’s possible that they know no different. I feel sorry for them a bit too, but mostly because they don’t strike me as the most intelligent of chaps.

I’ve always found that those that feel indifferent about gays - like those of significant faith - are worse than the whitetrash that fkn hate us. Because those of faith disagree with our being so much that they feel that they can erase us, break down our rights, and destroy our right to experience everything that is good about being human. They feel vilified now, but they expect a space for themselves, but not for us.

No one is asking them to attend Mardi Gras. I’ve never actually been to a pride event, and only went to a gay bar once, in Oslo, and that was because my straight mates wanted to go and get some attention! The same bar was shot up recently, by an individual of faith.

Your work colleague seems a pretty calm guy. But if I’ve learned anything in my life and especially this last week, the macho heteros have almost always supported me (for the most part). Those of extreme faith haven’t.

The Manly 7 would definitely have their share of support among some of the roosters players but the roosters are obviously a much better run club than Manly.

Notice how the only person from the roosters who has been interviewed this week after the Manly 7 stood down has been Robbo? There is no way the club is going to risk putting players in front of the media to be peppered with questions on the jersey, even the ones who are most assuredly supportive of it.

I expect they would have been well coached and briefed on what to say post game and you will only see Teddy at the presser with Robbo.
