I don't really care. I'd play a corner post before rennings.
Id play jennings at centre over staines every day of the week.

Playing staines at centre is one way to kill the kids confidence he has obviously worked so hard towards. Would be a huge backward step for his development.

Literally so many options first.

I wouldn't. So play one of them that's not Jennings.

It absolutely isn't. If it's still happening in the NBA it's sure as shit happening in the NRL
Find me one in the nrl?

That seve one is clearly just an error lol.

No need to say a bloke is 195cm when hes clearly about 180 lol.

You think they just make shit up in the nba lol. Every year for the draft they get weighed, height measured performance stats... its a huge huge market over there. Gambling on it is huge. They dont just make shit up hahaha.

I literally looked at every player this weekend playing centre and all the heights and weights looked pretty spot on.

They may be weights they started at in the preseason etc and not current as per this rd. But they all look reasonably accurate. There was nothing that was clearly a lie or bs.

No dramas with jennings not being picked.

I said id have picked jenkins.

Turuva is a wing or fb atm just like staines is...

Picking him at centre would be lunacy.

Part of me hopes ivan will play taylan at right centre tho too. I think taylan really would make a go of it. At least hes 5kgs bigger than staines and definitley much stronger.

I'm happy to meet in the middle on May. He's played centre before.

The team selection this week is rather bizarre on a number of fronts. Kenny is out injured but no Soni Luke on the bench or even in the squad. Strange.

Kenny isn't playing much Hooker anyway, so they probably figure Salmon can spot fill for Api if required.

Staines on the bench is odd, but no way it sticks, especially against a big Eels pack. I'm guessing Leota or Smith come onto the bench to replace Staines.

That's it. All the chat is for nothing there os zero chance the 17 stays like that and Ivan does like Jennings as a back up.

Remember guys that The Parramatta left side will attack our right side edge, that includes Sivo….

This side has me worried as Parra will run shapes at it all night with all tall bodies….Sivo, Blake, Lane. Browne is a gun and you can bet Gutho will inject himself there as well. Parra will bomb the hell out of that area in addition to running at it. To’o and Jennings aren’t tall and Martin won’t out contest Lane in the air.

Taylan May is a better centre than Jennings or anyone else like Jenkins or Staines who plays in reserve grade, however I am always reluctant to switch 2 players to fix one position. Ivan had a bad habit of doing that in 2020 and in stages in 2021. So far it looks as though he has learn’t from those mistakes.

For instance, I wouldn’t want Staines to be forced into defending Sivo if people want to move May at right centre and shift To’o to Left wing. Besides that kills our best chemistry combination in Tago/May who should absolutely carve Penisini and Simonsson who are out of form/ordinary.

It’s very well known the heights listed by nba teams are innacurate it’s been a thing for years, openly discussed amongst nba media etc. players heights are inflated by teams don’t ask me why but it’s definitely a thing. The only heights listing that can be relied upon is at the draft combine where they are measured without shoes by the nba. They often go to a team from there and miraculously grow two inches. Not saying this happens in the nrl buts it’s definitely done by nba teams. The nba had to bring in new rules to stop it being so ridiculously inflated.

Had a conversation elsewhere online with someone mentioning this with the NBA recently so it's a reasonably common belief.

Yeah its been a very well known fact in the nba for decades, even a guy like Michael Jordan, most hardcore Nba fans as well as players and media people from his era dont beleive he was actually 6'6, most think 6'5 and quite a lot will tell you he was only 6'4. The nba is trying to stamp it out now but that is only recent, it was just a given the team listed heights werent completely accurate. Most players would inflate their heights but some would make it shorter. Kevin durant was measured just over 6'10 at the draft combine then listed as 6'9 by his team after being drafted. A lot of it is just to do with positions but often it was just ego imo, you have a sport obsessed and dominated by tall people of course players will want to be seen as taller if it makes them more valuable but also players wanted to be taller or shorter to play certain positions, less need for that now as the nba teams and coaches are a lot less rigid in regards to what height you have to be to play different positions. Anyway ive gone off on a tangent now lol.

You are correct. Michael Jennings was listed at 185cm on the Panthers website for a while. I remember going to game and trying to work out how I was taller than him.
