I find it pretty ridiculous the vast majority of NRL media have forgotten about F Molo, it's almost as if he didn't play origin last year
TBH Molo was lucky to make it from the bench of the Cowboys and I thought his impact was minimal
No different to Corey Norman getting picked, they seem to run out of players in a lot of prestige games except representing your country.
He is certainly not in the Top 4 QLD props if all fit
But happy to have him as a Dragon if he can break the line and get us rolling forward

I don't think many clubs will be jumping to offer birdy a large contract

Birdy is a good footy player but with 2 x ACL recons the guy won't come back from a 3rd and we all know the stat's once u have had two recons......u area high likelihood of doing your 3rd.

It was a remarkable effort in 2021 by JACK to come back like he did.

I must say though statistically jack bird doesn't get any where near the best centres in the game and I can't see him up there as a backrower

He will be solid but not worth more than $400k pa which is still a big risk for us if he plays two games into a 2 year contract and then does his acl again

It has also surprised me Adolf , the man’s defense is the reason that I thought that we had signed him . He is built like a tank and therefore he should be able to do a lot of damage when running at full speed with the ball tucked under his arm .

This is an example of what I have been saying when referring to Griffin getting into these new signings heads and to point out clearly that he and the club expects them to go to the next level , in other words play to their potential.

They are playing for a new team now , they must leave the disappointments of the past where it belongs - in the past and give their all for the Big Red V .

I think it’s based on missed tackles, errors and set restarts. That’s why we are rightly 14th, we need to address these issues.
Hopefully they do.
They may also have factored in our forward's judiciary record. I don't have the figures on how many games were missed by key forwards throughout 2021 but it was a lot. In all, including injuries and suspensions, our regular starters and bench players racked up over 90 missed games last year, that's insane. Only part of that was from the bbq suspensions. Hopefully we can not only have a better run with the judiciary (and hopefully injury-wise) but our greater depth will see us through in tight matches when first pick players are out. It's a really important factor that our depth players stand up when needed. As I mentioned elsewhere, in the rnd 11 Cronulla 1 point loss we had JDB, Sims, McGuire, Rava, Dufty, Lomax and Fuimaono all unavailable and fielded a virtual reserve grade team and would have won if a couple of the back up players had just a little more to give, in terms of experience, skill or impact but it wasn;t the case. This year with an improved squad we should be more competitive even when down on troops and win those close games. Ranking our pack 14th is quite frankly ludicrous imo, I'd say we're much closer to mid-ladder and I look forward to the boys proving me right or better.

You can blame injury and suspension for last year but the most damaging thing for me was the set restarts we gave away. It killed our season. Must fix this or it’s another long year ahead.

Yeah our discipline has been poor for years and the suspensions are part of that. It was a combination of injuries, suspensions, poor discipline and lack of quality depth but you're right having an improved squad means sfa if we don't sort our onfield discipline issues and off-field culture.

I think Jack Bird did well to play through the 2021 season.

I thought he went ok but nothing out of the ordinary. Really I doubt any team would now pick him up for over $300k a season and neither should we.

Of course, 2016 he was sensational and a major reason the sharks got the premiership. The two ACL injuries look to have taken a bit of the ‘zip’ out of his game. If resigned no overs please.

I hope we wait until at least halfway through the year.If he cant play any better than last year ( i doubt that he has much improvement left ) then 300k max. It is just too much of a risk taking on a larger contract with his injury history. That as well as what role do we have for him ? It looks to me that he is a second stringer in all the positions he covers. Broncos was his "Alan Bond "moment so he may take a reduced contract to be back at home.

Last year he showed glimpses of what he can do. He was still getting himself match fit and was hesitant to play full out, he just wanted to get a full year of footy in.
I reckon he is one of our best footballers. He’s potent in attack, just needs to tidy up defence.
I’d be signing him up, hell we have signed guys like McCulloch on longish deals, why not give a 26 year old a 3 year deal?
I disagree he’s a second stringer in all positions.
I think he is a walk up starter for backrow/lock.

Think he'll make a very good backrower, with utility value.

Dragons 14th worst pack out of 16. I think he is very very wrong.
One of those pointless exercises that fills up newspaper space on slow news days at this time of year. With five new forwards, our pack bears little resemblance to last years. Boys, try this comparison again when it makes sense- at the half way stage of this season.
