OT, when you are 75 like me, 29 is a kid. I still think the club should sign him up.
You've got me by around 10% so maybe I should give you the OT mantle?

He might prove to be another Stanley Gorton oh how I used to love watching him do a shimmy a shammy a shack followed by a stutter then blow the opposition away with pure speed but I can't forget how I used to wince when they were running at him.

I couldn't take your name OT, you have been on this Forum a lot longer than me and you are a legend in my opinion. No, maybe I should change my name to Old Dave Dragon instead.

As someone of a slightly younger vintage, I'm curious as to what that actually looks like 🤔

Agree he had speed alright , defense well . . . But i often wonder if he made any money from Brylcream , the man was a walking advertisement for them . 🤔

Kid = 29 in March
Defence = < Dufty
If he fitted the Storm mould he would already be there
They did have a couple of handy wingers already in Ado-Carr & Vunivalu at the storm when he was playing for their feeder club. It probably had more to do with, not directing extra money towards a back up winger, instead they invested in the likes of Hynes & Grant instead.

Yes but if they rated him why did they not buy him after having him in their system earlier or keep him. Since Vunivalu left to play wing they bought Jennings from reserves at another club, bought Meaney from the Dogs, used Pene who they have let go and have brought through the young Ieremia
They clearly thought he was not up to a 1st grade contract at their club anyway.

Kid = 28 in March but 29 after next season in October
Are you sure defence = or < Dufty?

An excellent read O.T. - not only about Stan , but also our Sherman-tank Kenny Maddison and the other speedsters from the Sydney clubs back them .

The video clip itself took me back to those days and the man undoubtedly possess plenty of speed . Shame about his recurring injuries .

So the Storm, Broncos, Roosters, Cowboys all got it wrong and we have got it right and a 29 year old rookie is a better bet than our youngsters?

I understand the nice sentiments and the warm fuzzy feelings but this is a cut throat industry and all those other clubs saw fit to invest long term in other players and did so for a reason.

I must say Jon Reuben is a fast winger. Great highlights package on YouTube.

His try on the weekend could only be scored by a winger with positioning sense and anticipation, linked to pure speed to beat the cover defence to the corner try line. He moves with that look of Koribete; not long striding but furious step cadence.

Rational thinking then says he is approaching 30 and no NRL club has stepped in to procure his services. Why? He could almost be described as a try scoring machine In QLD Cup.

I just love high end speed players so I’ll be most interested to see how he goes.

All those other clubs got it wrong, he was as potent as Olam when playing for the Falcons, it only matters that I get it right !!!!!!!!! remember what I say.

What i would like to see is Hunt playing hooker. He killed it when he played hooker in SOO in the game Queensland won. This would enable Sullivan to play half and Amone at 5/8th and we need these two to play as many games together in first grade so that their combination could be enhanced and we would have a spine of Sloan, Amone, Sullivan and Hunt which would be formidable. I know that this won't happen as Hook will want McCullough playing hooker for defence and he has always preferred Hunt at half, but you never know!
I've always thought tha spine; Salon, Amone, Sullivan, and Hunt would be our best spine combination.

Simply that, he was over 25 when Vunivalu left, he is a specialist winger, Jennings & Meaney can play multiple positions & the storm like to invest in late teens or early 20's. That's what was told to me from inside source.

Bird would be the perfect bench utility, ahead of Mbye in skill, age and versatility in that he covers 1-7, backrow and lock. I think letting him go is insane. At least I hope they don't give him or anyone else - Sims, Lawrie - an early release because we really need all hands on deck this year, we aren't in as good a position as many people think. F.Molo and Poasa showed our depth isn't that great either. Don't let yesterday's win go to your head.
I like Bird as well but don't regard him as being particularly skillful, nor particularly big, nor particularly fast. No kicking game either. However, he is strong for his size and when he embarks on those Burke and Wills expeditionary runs bouncing off would be tacklers and running all over the park, he is fun to watch. For mine, he is a backrower or (slow) centre- not a real utility. The Roosters have got the best utility player in the game- Connor Watson.
