Good luck to him - would have had to just be the money aspect…either that or he has rocks in his head. Sure, Fitz is a rookie coach but Nathan Brown is a dead set imposter…one of the boys
I've always thought Nathan Brown could've been a good coach but he got a head coaching job far too early (pretty much the year after he was forced to retire from playing).

His big issue at the Dragons back in the day was coaching the very blokes he played with.

Always thought he should've plied his trade as an assistant for a few years learning from existing coaches before getting his feet wet as a head coach himself.

I always thought he'd be a good coach as well, that was until he coached the Knights and saw the players reaction to him leaving. They did not give one f**k that he was gone. Very telling in my opinion.
Compare that to the Sharks players who kept in touch with Flange to make sure he was ok.
The players couldn't, or wouldn't, play for him (Brown).

Now he's just "the coach" who slapped Barrett and made a line about Bennett thinking with his little head, and that's about it.

Agreed - any job in any industry where you convert from team mate to leader or manager is a tough slog. He would have been groomed as the next big thing, but alas not to be.
Plenty give it to Barrett for being a chief flog but he has gone away and learnt more under Cleary and come back,, and still rubbish.
I like the guy but Brown is just taking the gig as it’s paying money. Ain’t much pressure across the ditch I assume

Side question who does one think will play halfback for us this season with Johnson & Townsend both gone? As far as I can see we no longer have an experienced specialist halfback in our squad.

Sure but Moylan on bench - Yuck.

Unless we think he isn’t in the 17
I don’t mind Moylan in the 14. An experienced guy who plays eyes up can’t be bad. I’d expect him to be used better than old mate Hannay did.
I think Trindall and hynes need the keys from round 1, with Moylan available if it goes bad.

Moylan and 3 big blokes on the bench for me

I think he signed on for two more years mate
Cheers, thanks.

Still for someone signing his first real NRL deal and playing semi-regular first grade for the first time you'd think he'd prioritise his football career a little more. The Dogs have drawn the line in the sand with Asiata and told him he's getting jabbed or walking.

Given the forwards we have: Finucane, Rudolf, Wilton, Nikora, Graham, BHU, Hunt, McInnes and Williams he might be flat out making the top 17 anyway.

Not expecting much from Talakai even if he gets jabbed or allowed to play.
I don’t see him mentally tough enough to deal with the pressure of first grade football and the stresses it brings on a consistent basis.
