Which is why forget the spin

How much is 7 paying cash
How much is fox paying cash a year

Compare that to Fox
Sky NZ
Ch9

For League and there is the comparison

Not this including Telstra and other tricks used
Too right Lamback, look at all the luvies that the AFL is pure driven snow.
What are seven paying Cash Only.....
What are Foxtel/Kayo paying Cash Only........... oh no we won't tell you that Mr Red, how about Mr Wookie find out and report back... love to know.... Till then

Yes, every media outlet is lying and the AFL is lying. Seven and Fox is lying. You are right and they are wrong.

Seriously, some of these companies are public with shareholders. You cannot lie about this stuff. $642m as year is a great deal. By way of comparison, the NFL deal doubled recently to $10B each year ($14.8B AUD), so an increase of 30% by the AFL is awesome compared to the NRL who went backwards, but not necessarily by international standards.
In my last post that i was referencing show me where I said lying...... And i have already re read it , so it's you are lying.... I allude to a possible way to read their agreement. But maybe you can clean up this by finding out what Seven pays in cash and what Foxtel pays in cash, and then we will see how awesome YOUR AFL DEAL is.

Maybe while hes doing that, you can find an actual factual basis for anything you've been saying in this thread.

Thats allright Mr Six hundred and forty million dollar cash man. What was your take when you mentioned 'north of four' does that mean only in 400's cash yearly... thats a long way down from $640m p/a we will have to find out more and can we use your contacts. When we take out the usual back door money men like Telstra and Mattresses galore what will be left with... ( broadcast cash only ) and so this deal isn't so hot after all, when you take away usual grammar tricks that the AFL excel at......as well as having strange year long deals which looks like a bigger figure than it is.

I've been saying for months that our game is killing itself by propping up nine small Sydney clubs to the detriment of everyone else. While AwFuL bases all of its clubs out of large state of the art stadia in front of attendances averaging well over 30k, our game chooses to be based around nine small Sydney clubs who struggle to average 13k, with many of them playing out of parks that have a bloody hill instead of a grandstand.

Who in their right mind would invest in a game that's run by braindead hillbillies from Sydney and think the world begins in Botany Bay and ends at the foot of the Blue Mountains?

These hillbillies have fought tooth and nail to keep their stinkin' hills and thunderboxes because they're scared of having to travel to a large stadium.

The amount of time and money our game has invested in keeping nine small Sydney clubs afloat and based out of mid-20th century stadia has prevented us from adding Brisbane 3, Adelaide, Perth, NZ 2 and NZ 3. The result is we're the unwanted laughing stock of Australian sport as we have a product that rates its socks off but ain't worth shit to anyone who matters because it only cares about hillbillies from one bloody city. Fumbleball is a shit game that knows how to appeal to women and businesses across the entire country, so they get the big contracts.

I warned everyone that our game was facing dark times unless it stopped catering to yobbo clubs from Sydney. @Perth Red warned everyone about PVL. It looks like our game will have to learn the hard way because NSWRL fans aren't capable of learning from their mistakes.

I think questions need to be asked out of all this why does News Ltd favour AFL so much over NRL? why does this organisation want to devalue broadcast rights for League so much. I mean they are basically taking money from NRL fans and paying the AFL with this deal. We're back to the early 2000s when League was often smashing AFL in TV ratings on Foxtel but only got half the money. How is this allowed to happen? The NRL clubs must be so tied up in their own operations, or so trusting of the head body when they should be f**king protesting!

I don't think V'landy's is an idiot or a poor negotiator, I think he was placed in the chairman role to f**k over the NRL for the good of News and its main competitor!!
I think we can safely say fox would be very happy if there was only one major footy code they had to deal with in australia. It’s clear they see that code as afl.
We need a new ptv/streaming partner. Shame we’re locked to these cocks until 2027 thanks to their man on the inside,

Looks like AwFuL is getting $642,857,142 per annum for seven years, totalling $4.5 Billion.

@Perth Red was right about Peter V'landys.

He said north of 4. thats billion. He didnt say north of 400.

The AFL sold media rights. Not tv rights. You know, because we live in a modern era. Its not the AFLs fault Telstra dont pay for yours.

its almost like you make shit up as you go along.

Lol the denial in here is quite amazing. So much egg on so many faces. It’s like the 2 year $946mill announcement all over again lol.

afl played a blinder getting ten interested and the “leak“ of $600mill for ten years has clearly forced seven and fox way over what they wanted to pay. Very smart by Gil.
Nine offering $500 mill is just the biggest kick in the balls to nrl ever after they refused to pay anything extra despite another Brisbane club They’d beeen crying out for for years. fox you can expect, they prefer afl, they said it themselves. chance of losing it would have been the end for Foxsports so they’ve gone hard to keep it.

what the details are in terms of split and contra we probably won’t know for sure for quite a while yet.

It can never be a fairfax/news combo again. We need one of the major media companies independent of the game or we just get collusion to devalue the game.
