Considering there track record with lying on NSW/QLD crowds, participation rates and previous media deals you'd be crazy not to question their numbers. When you break it down based on 7 paying a 15% increase the numbers for Fox just don't add up ....

lol which media deal did they lie about before?

Dolphins next year will cover it

Dolphins have their benefits
Not sure increasing the TV Deal was going to be a focus when they were brought in
They are dominating QCup like Panthers are in NSW, That is a great base to start from along with how rich they are

Furthermore, they might lose casual fans across Auatralia if this continues. They will probably lose corporate sponsorship over this, particularly if the stories continue.
There's an avenue we can explore to hurt AwFuL. If we put enough pressure on AwFuL's commercial partners they might stop investing in that stupid game.

Sure I mean Telstra has only been part of the AFLs media rights packages for 20 odd years. First time the folks here have arced up about it.
Contra spending on marvel stadium is irrelevant to tv deals

it just shows your afl to be really desperate to try and claim a win

how much are they getting from seven and foxtel ?

We can debate what Telstra pay for should be in with the TV rights but this?

Through this new deal Telstra will be building on their investment into Marvel Stadium and extending into innovation and our digital offerings through the AFL / AFLW apps and all 18 clubs’ websites.

Updates to AFL owned assets are certainly not part of TV rights

That last line is all that matters for the basis of this discussion

Lol,we heard this when they signed a 416mill deal, then their $473mill deal now this one. No one sits in front of the countries media with execs from the media companies involved and puts out false figures. It’s as batsht crazy as an afl fan claiming we didnt get $402mill and only got $300mill for no good reason other than “they can’t see it“ lol

So far all that is confirmed is $4.5bill over 7 years with a little over $4bill of it being cash. Seven are on record as saying they are paying 14% increase on their ‘24 value, but we dont know what that is.

now the guess work:
One article had seven payment at $185mill. Another article has telstra at$60mill. If true or journo guess work no one knows and we probably never will. A number of other articles has the seven and fox combined cash amount at $550mill a year. Again no official verification though.

maybe the gift that keeps on giving, Vlandys, gave fox such a bargain deal for nrl they had a lot more to throw at afl then they thought they would? There is no dojb t the paramount bid was serious and forced fox to pay much more than they would have liked.

I suppose we can sit and hope it’s all lies but the odds are somewhat stacked against that being the case lol.

Literally part of the last deal as well. But evidently only matters this time to you guys. Telstra hs run the AFL website network since it was invented.

obviously cricket is the only sport worth watching and thus paying for. Let the halfwits who still watch football after their 10th birthday get it on free to air. They need the money.
