Broncos ticket sales have slowed due to the weather turning to shit from Thursday onwards.

43-45k still likely though.

Just did some research...a standard sideline ticket to Parra v Cronulla tomorrow Fri 6pm and Parra v Penrith Thursday Night in 2 weeks is $100. Premium seats are $115.

Richmond v Carlton max ticket price for adults is $90 for the even the most premium seats. Their fan association keeps tickets affordable.

An NRL Fan Association is desperately needed!!!!!!!!!

The Broncos are just over two sections (maybe 600 seats) from a sellout. They released all restricted view seats, just not those in level 6. Odd. Maybe they might come later but who knows.

EDIT: restricted view in level 6 have just been loaded. Round that up to about 800 seats left.

Hopefully the weather plays ball + doesn't put people off attending.

It would be a great statement for the NRL if the Broncos and Cowboys can nudge 50k!

Unfortunately a weather system is moving through. Might take out quite a few families. Redcliffe's crowd could get hammered.

50k is a struggle because capacity is reduced for GA areas. Stadium memberships have pretty much sold out this year, so if all of them show up and corporate sales are huge we could go very close.

Early projection that next week's Roosters vs Rabbitohs game at Allianz Stadium is tracking for a crowd of over 30,000. This would make it one of the ten biggest Roosters / Rabbitohs crowds for a regular season NRL Game in the last 50 years.

This from Transport for NSW:

Important travel advice

With more than 30,000 footy fans expected, fans are urged to leave the car at home and catch public transport with travel on all modes of transport included in your ticket to the game.

I’d love it to be 30000. Just not sure I believe it will happen.

It would help if there was:
A/Some marketing
B/Some regularity

About a Rabbitohs and Roosters game early in the season.

A/Some marketing
The Broncos vs Cowboys is being dubbed the "XXXX Derby."
The Dolphins vs the Broncos is being nicknamed the "Battle of Brisbane."
There was plenty of online advertising for the Waratahs vs the Brumbies, and a big push to get the crowds through the turnstiles.
Heck even the A-League puts a bit of effort into branding Sydney FC vs WSW (Sydney Derby) and Sydney FC vs Melbourne Victory (Big Blue).

A regular season Rabbitohs/Roosters game generally just coasts along without any particular focus from the NRL marketing team (or the marketing teams at either club for that matter).

B/Some regularity
Whilst it's common for the Rabbitohs and Roosters to play each other early in the season, and then in the last round of the year, it would be good if they got a prime slot to maximise crowds on a regular basis (given, even without marketing, it is THE regular club game in Sydney that can pull a non-public holiday crowd). 8:00pm Friday night or 4:00pm Sunday afternoon should be a regular thing.

It would also help if both clubs based themselves out of Allianz Stadium and the rivalry also became about being the "chief tenant," but that's on hold until the NSW Government sees the light and tries to play its minor role in fostering the rivalry and allows them both to be based out of Moore Park.

All that said and done, a 30k+ crowd for R3 Roosters vs Rabbitohs is still a good turnout.

Like I said, it would be one of the ten biggest regular season Rabbitohs/Roosters crowds of the past 50 years (7th biggest in fact).

It’s not a big increase on previous crowds at the old stadium or accor

Friday night isn’t a terrible time slot either

30k is nothing to brag about for this crowd

Bulk rain about to hit Brissy tomorrow, tipping it will push the crowd down a fair bit.

I agree. Such a shame because only single seats available now, a perfect outcome for the Broncos if it weren't raining. Families won't drag their young kids through rain and traffic for 7pm kick off.

Hopefully still 45k+
