round 19 & some potential stinkers in store for crowds , for the 1st time in 2023 , mixed with some gold too , so not all bad

Thurs Tigers V Sharks Commbank .. umm... oh dear 8K
Fri Dragons V Raiders Wollongong .... see the above .. 8K
Sat Parra V Warriors Commbank 20K
Sat Bulldogs V Brisb Belmore 12K
Sun Titans V Dolphins Robina 20K
Would be nice to see 20k at Robina but judging by ticket sales currently, I'd go for closer to 15k for the moment. All depends on how the tickets sell throughout the week and if members still back the boys, along with premium hospo.

A question for Melbourne based Storm fans... why would a bigger crowd turn up at Docklands than would have at Aami? Docklands is less than ideal for watching RL and Aami would have a better RL match atmosphere... just curious. Was it the novelty factor?

I know that the novelty factor of the Broncos playing at the Gabba has quite a few interested up here despite being inferior to Suncorp for RL
At Marvel there's the Medallion Club and people who are Medallion Members can go to any game at Marvel. Storm were playing Riff so it's one of the biggest match ups in NRL.

This is like the 8th round with an aggregate over 150k?

The next best for this figure is five rounds in four seasons (1995, 2010, 2012, 2013).

Shit's pretty nuts.

It's definitely the new grounds but even a gumby stadium like Brookie getting sold out when Manly's playing like amputee hobos during Origin is really f**king promising.

Only 30,600 or so at the Gabba. Disappointing considering it was a sell-out. Playing this one at the Gabba has come at a cost of 20k fans. Bloody soccer.
NRL has it's best season for years and f**kin womens Soccer (which is shit when you watch the USA team against some old timers men from Wrexham) f**ks it up for us to play at AFL grounds...imagine the damage Mens Soccer would do.

The Men's World Cup would be amazing.

FIFA would bully the Southern States into building beautiful rectangular grounds, Canberra, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Sunshine Coast would probably all get glorious new venues.

Oh the horror!

they play the Broncos at Belmore next week , might be a hard sell getting anyone there tbh after today , but ride the lion thinks nothing less then an 18K sellout would be acceptable & there are ... no.. excuses
Acceptable is a misnomer. Certainly desirable or preferable. Don't understand why any RL fan would think otherwise.

i don't follow either side & my spine was tingling
Philosophical point - life is full of ups and downs. We only fully appreciate the peaks by contrast with the troughs.

Imagine if all NRL games had a finish like Sea-Eagles/Roosters. So that you took ebullient tingling for granted. In the long run, wouldn't be good for your spine or the comp.

you talk more about sooker & its fans then RL
Don't think so. Hard to stop me talking about RL. Ever seen the state of English PTBs? If you have a spare few days I could explain what's gone wrong and why. You'd beg for mercy.

The EPL story is relevant to how the NRL can develop more of an attendance culture. Positive signs that it's happening this year. But still too many fans tipping buckets over lower-placed teams.

Significant that the cricket doesn't appear to affect NRL fans who attend games. Whereas it clearly has tempted some NRL (and even more AFL) couch-dweller fans to switch channels. Underlines the value of shifting people from couches into stadia.
